this new project by the UK Met Office should go live in a few more weeks hopefully
so then other UK members can sign up and send there data (its similar to wunderground), and then that data is used to help with forecasts
(like wunderground data does now in the USA through the MIDAS system)
manual data entry is also available

@Brian, is this a UKMO, (England ,Scotland and Wales) project only and not opened to us Irish folk that jut a bit more into the predominant Atlantic influence on our climate of these 2 islands can you disclose? I haven’t heard of such a project and sure many a member on the Irish network could well be interested if it helps improve forecasting in NW Europe. Including myself, there are several members that record climate data using standard Met equipment for Ireland so this would be taken serious and who are apart of COL here.

I think we’ll have to wait to find out if it’ll cover Ireland and other EU countries. 
I have sent an email to the developers to see if they are OK with data from across the Irish sea

scroll the map around to the other side of the world to find me
I have heard back and Ireland is no problem
also it will be going live in a week or so,and any test data uploaded will be deleted…
Sounds an interesting project. Been offline for a while with a busted PC - seems like I really missed the boat :?
Anyway I’ll await for more details.

I am providing data and it shows up, even though I am on the other side of the world…you just have to rotate the google map , from the WOW data site

It was lonely only seeing 3 non metoffice sites on WOW (4 if I moved the map all the way to NZ!)

How do you move it to NZ? It doesn’t drag for me 
only via the actual WOW data site (accesible once you have signed up and have an account)
