How do I make this image as good as this webcam is capable of? I have tried various changes in setting in WD WebCam Capture, but nothing changes the poor quality appearance on the webpage.
It looks like a focus issue to me, but if its dark then there may be some other settings you can use. Have you used Capture Settings / Camera settings / Brightness, and also / Sharpness. But there must be some direct camera controls to set auto focus or manual focus or infinity. Bashy I’m sure will chime in and help
Yep, like TokKiwi said, it looks like you might be using the Auto Focus, if you are turn it off and
set the focus to the furthest right, also do not use the Zoom, this will deteriorate the quality also
I have added am image of how i have mine set, 2 images are from webcamcapture, in the settings screen
theres Camera Settings and theres Video Quality, oh theres camera control as well i would leave all that as
is except for Exposure, put a tick in the Auto box
I have to go work so if you need more help im sure Bob might shed some light on it for you…
After all that, its a stretched image, thats why it looks like that
The image propertise are 320X240 but on your page you have enlarged it
somewhat to 480x360, you need to set a higher resolution in webcamcapture
if you want a bigger image
OMG, it certainly is infective. I have another Pro 9000 on the way so that will probably be a job tomorrow.
I have just located a 12’ scaffold pole, so that will be a job for my brother on Sunday… weather permitting!
Was it you or was it Bashy who mentioned a way of cutting out the glare off the double-glazed window?
Y’know, I have 3 forums of my own running, but I’m afraid they have taken a back seat since I started this lark! I spend most of my day searching for ‘new things’ for my website. I’m TRYING to register with MeteoGroup to get a radar image on my site, but their administration seems all to pot!
I’m not sure, but there are two tricks that i know of. 1. is to place a sheet of polaroid on the window, another is to get an anti-glare lens from camera shop but they will be difficult to mount on your tiny camera unless you glue the ring to the window and the camera is up close. (Both of these are relatively expensive ~ UK10-20) 2. is to place a black velvet or corduroy cloth from the window down over the back of the camera to prevent light from the room getting a chance to reflect off the glass - probably the easiest
Gosh - another webcam in a different direction, different window - this gets better!!
I’ve got the bug! The bank balance is diminishing daily!
I’ll try the 2nd idea first, Graeme… I’ll wait until my wife goes out then go and rummage through her wardrobe for something to cut up! Ummmmmmm… would that be grounds for a divorce?
Can you change the Subject of your first post in this thread to something like “Image quality poor - QCam Pro 9000 - FIXED” 'cause otherwise people just see the title and think it’s a comment on the camera. Thanks.
I run a few SMF forums myself and often go into the SMF Community when I need help with a problem. They have it set up there so that the originator can press ‘Topic Solved’ when the problem is put right and it puts a green tick against the first post. Great idea!
