I recently added a Davis Solar Radiation sensor to my ISS and via WD, added it to my PWS ( Arcola, Virginia, USA Home Weather Station (wd version) (novawx.dscloud.me)). I do not have a UV sensor.
The tile I created shows the Solar Radiation from my sensor but has an error message No valid data-file found.
How can I fix/remove the error?
In PWS_easyweathersetup.php, for the sensor option I chose:
And for the tile option I chose:
My guess is the UV needs to come from Darsky but I thought they were defunct and an Internet search indicates they have an app but I can’t find a website.
Yes, message is because DarkSky is defunct. You would be better selecting “Our station has both UV and solar” to get rid of the message. . . I know it means you have to ignore the pyramid and UV box. . .
I have a similar problem because I only have UV. . . I modified a popup to “UV Guide”.
Okay, thanks.
I wonder if the UV index could be populated from TEMIS – Clear-sky UV index forecast and archives similar to the way it is derived from the Saratoga Weather template from the get-UV-forecast-inc.php script?
I have always wondered this as well
Hi,
The dashboard shows the current weather-values from your weather-station sensor.
Those are realtime values and f.i. UV and solar change during the day based on time ( → height of the sun) and cloud coverage.
The TEMIS-values are a forecast of the “max” values for the day. The values remain the same for the whole day.
So it would be a strange block with values for solar changing based on time of day and cloud.
And a constant UV-value which would remain the same during the day and night.
In the past we used the 1 hour forecast from DarkSky as that one generated “dynamic = adapted to weather conditions” values during the day.
That could be used also if the replacement-forecast for DarkSky also uses dynamic values.
We can not use METAR as not all METAR-stations supply IUV and Solar.
I hope this clarifies the current situation a bit better.
Best regards,
Wim

Wim,
Thanks for the explanation. I wasn’t aware that DarkSky’s updates were hourly, so it makes sense why that was an option and TEMIS doesn’t make sense for that block.
For those of us with only one sensor, either solar or UV, maybe a future upgrade could include the options for a solar-only and UV-only block.
However, the current set up gives me justification to drop $350 on the UV sensor!
