Solar plotting on graph

Thanks for adding the solar graph, but on mine it doesn’t work very well! It seems to either plot 0% or 100% and nothing in between … so what I end up is with vertical lines instead of horizontal lines in between the graph

Hi Brian, and welcome back. Somewhere (but alas its gone since the crash) you included a link from someone elses site in NZ that showed the solar graph working okay.

If you recall (maybe) I said that this site wasn’t showing the solar graph.

Could you check this out again on this link you gave. Also, mine is still not working correctly on the graph page. In fact, other things don’t work either when I set-up to plot the solar graph.

I will forward those details to you later, but first, could you confirm that link to show me exactly what it should appear like.

http://www.tokaanuskihire.co.nz/pukekohe/pukekohe.htm

is a good example, which uses the % reading option in the graph setup
(its a sunny day here today)
and
http://www.portunus.net.nz/weather/Prime.htm

That is fine on that graph Brian, and that is what I expected, but on mine, with no sun, I am still getting vertical line plots at 0.0% sun - and even at night! Have a look at http://www.workandplay.org.uk/todays_weather.htm and you will see what I mean.

not sure at this stage why its doing that
but lets see how it goes during the day
also, you might want to set the colour of the vertical line hour to a less noticeble colour in the colour setup
(i.e more like the background colour)

It has been overcast until about 5.00pm, and the solar plot has started. This appears so far correct. I have also changed the colours too. Will see how it carries on overnight to see if these strange vertical lines appear again.

Brian, there is still problems. The solar plot is still not working right. My website still shows what was recorded yesterday for the solar only, as it is not keeping in step with plot as in moves from right to left. This appears to have stopped moving when the solar reached 0.0%. I have left it on my website for your perusal.

one thing that i can do to stop the more than 0% reading during the night is always set it to zero if wd knows its night time from the lat/long
i have done this for all the other solar stations, but not the 1 from a temperature in a jar

as for the plot position, its working OK here, so i dont know why its not for you

I am not really sure what is happening with mine, but it certainly is not plotting correctly

This morning I checked the graph - and I now have 3 days of solar plots on the same graph because they won’t scroll right to left with the time bar.

If you look back on to my website http://www.workandplay.org.uk/todays_weather.htm you will see what I mean. It has completley “lost the plot”.

I will leave it on my website until 1st April, then I shall revert back to indoor humidity only. I know you have domestic problems, and that is why I am not nagging you.

Hopefully you can come back to it at a more convenient date — hopefully you won’t forget me.

Brian, I just like to let you know that I am trying the solar plot again on version 10.10i incase you have managed to correct the problem. The plot started about 11.20am at 100%, so it will be interesting to note if the plot keeps in time with the graph scroll log.

Well, it is now 11 hours later, and the solar plot still hasn’t moved Brian. In fact, it looks a mess wih all these vertical lines from strange solar plots which I cannot allow for.

Hope you can sort it … but why again is it me who has this problem, and nobody else!

Sorry to resurect this problem, but it still exists!

Brian, if it helps you, the graph plotting problem only appears to scroll from right to left in line with the time on the main graph whilst it is measuring above 0% solar. If for some reason the plot goes back to 0%, the plot plus what has already been recorded freezes and remains on the graph without keeping in sequence with the time plot.

Still unsure why nobody else has mentioned this, all is it unique only for the WMR918?

hi
thats the clue
i now know why it does that…its it plots solar instead of indoor humidity, and i will have a check that the indoor humidity needs to be above zero…
so i just need to take that check out if you have solar % plotting
I will do that first thing tomorrow

Did you ever get around to fixing this Brian, or has it slipped through the net, as the problem still exists.

yes i did
which version of wd are you using?
as i dont have any other reports of problems with the solar plot on the main screen at the moment

I’m using version 10.12l of WD.

what do you have ticked in the graph setup?

Mine works ok with the WS2500, version 10.12o

Brian, the problem still exists with me, and I am on version 10.12q, and the scroll appears to stop when it reaches 0.0% solar.
