Solar Graph on Main Screen

You need to uncheck “use solar %” in your image 2 graph setup

ok cheers. I’ll give that a go. many thanks.

Looks like this now

I would like to see the contents of your vantage log to see the raw numbers from your solar sensor.

I shall share soon. I seem to have a bigger problem. WD has stopped uploading data to website fir some reason.

Excuse my ignorance, where do I find those logs?

In the logfiles directory. They’re named as myyyyvantagelog.txt (or mmyyyyvantagelog.txt for Oct-Dec).

112023vantagelog.txt (1.9 MB)
This one?

Yes - that’s the one for Nov 2023

thanks very much for the help

Brian is assisting me via email. I had my longitude set incorrectly. Need to give it a few days for the error of no sun between 1300 and 1400 daily should be fixed.

We should have seen that in your settings. . . Sorry :slightly_frowning_face:

Me too. However, since changing it nothing has been fixed. Brian says it takes time which is fair enough. However, now my Conditions and Icon show permanently overcast. So to be truthful, it was more accurate without the negative added to longitude.

Hi All
So I have been emailing with Brian. He asked me to watch the Davis VP Extra Sensor Info during the time of 1300-1400. I did so and I didn’t see anything. Please see the attachments.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Chris

It definitely looks like a shadow so if you can’t see one covering the sensor during those times then you’ve exhausted my short list of ideas.

If you look at solar sensor at 13:00 to 14:00 is the sun shining on it the sensor is the one nearest the shed and which direction is the sun in relation to your previous photo at those times

Hi all
Many thanks for the suggestions and help.
From what I can see it’s the pole it’s mounted on causing the shading during 1300-1400ish.
I will have to raise it to the top of the pole to rectify I think.
Many thanks
Chris

Great shot it tells me that the iss assembly needs to be rotated 90 deg so the solar panels are pointing at the sun at midday ie under the anamometer and in line with the arm should not need to raise it

Ah. Brilliant mate. Thank you.

I can’t seem to reply to old posts or create a new one about my UV readings so I’m asking it here.
It’s currently 43.4 Celsius at home with completely clear skies but my UV reading is only 6, and the UV reading according to TEMIS -- Clear-sky UV index and ozone at a location
Says it should be 12+.
Do you think my UV sensor is failing?

Thanks.
Chris
