I am trying to use the sftp on WD but I get this message.

Connecting to FTP server.

I am changing the port, user name, etc… And it appears to be connecting. It will not, however, transfer anything. When I use another program to connect to the server it will work, so I know the info is all correct. Any ideas? :?

ah
you neeed to download and use this different ftp program
http://www.weather-display.com/downloads/sftpupdnew2.zip
and unzip to where you have WD installed

i didnt think many would need it…
but the US navy have it working :slight_smile:

With the new ftp program, if i set for sftp to run, i get a Windows error. However, if i do not set for sftp the new ftp runs fine. :?

I am going to look into more tomorrow.

that means your ftp server accepts both
the us navy had the same problem, and they resolved it by setting the correct permissions,etc, but thats all i know

Hmm…I seem to remember this in a thread a while back.

Still won’t upload to server.(Before I meant that the ftp will work with tripod under normal ftp). However, if i use a third party sftp program I can connect. So I thought that i could use the third party to do the upload. I try to select a different program to do upload, but WD just does everything normally.

I am sure I am just missing one little thing.
