Saving WXSIM to a Back-Up Folder

Good morning /afternoon everyone!

Sorry if this has been covered before in the forum, but didn’t see anything to this exact procedure.

I am about to download the latest WXSIM Rev. level (2025 Build 1.0) that was just released and wanted to save the previous Rev. level (2024 Build 1.0) in case of any issues moving forward, as suggested by Tom.

My question would be, what exactly would be the correct way of doing that?

I know I would make a new WXSIM back-up folder, probably titled by the Old (previous) Rev. level to go back to if needed, but what specifically should be saved and be contained in that folder?

Could I just make a complete Copy of My WXSIM folder from File Explorer? to the Back-Up Folder? Or cherry pick just the .exe files to move over to the back-up folder?

Thank you for the guidance.

Regards,
Dave

The quickest/easiest way is just to copy the whole folder. You probably only need it for a week or so until you’re sure the new version is working well so it’s not going to take up space for too long.
