saving data

Hi Brian,

Working with 10.12k now and I think you have a great WD for us working now. Thanks !

I went away for 5 days. My HD and Monitor were down to save energy (because my Qbic is a very small computer) and to eleminate high inside temperatures. But bad luck: after 3 days WD shuts down ! Don’t know why and I had to restart my computer when I came back.
Yes old topic: Were was all my data gone ? WD collected for half an hour data but I didn’t get it in graphs.

Question: Is it possible to make a datalogger working separate from WD ?
This little program has to work on it’s own and WD reads this logger as a buffer. Not for emergency but by default. Could be helpfull at crashing but maybe WD works smoother with it aswell.

Btw: It’s good news to hear from a new (pdf?) help file because there’s so much in ‘our’ WD program now ! For us ‘the oldies’ it’s not always hard to find how and whats possible but I think it’s saving you a lot of time if for the newcomings there is a handout. Think for oldies it’s helpfull aswell. 8)

humm, with your station type, it should have 3 days of the data storage in the data logger, and wd should get and update that data when it starts up…

tha should have happened, and does happen when i have tested it here…

hm so I converted 52004lg.txt to graph
all I see now in av/extr is this

24 10.6

try setting the day in the log file, 52004lg.txt, for those double up times, to the correct day number

hi

here is one of the doubled datastroke, wich one should I take

24 05 2004 23 54 9.6 86 7.4 1023.0 8 9 315 0.4 0.0 0.0 0.0 9.6
24 05 2004 23 54 10.2 87 8.1 1021.0 1 0 315 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 10.2

hm hm

but …were is day 1 till 23 ? and how to insert ? last backup file was at 17/5. I thought WD does it auto ? (ticked it)
or can I convert 52004*.inf file ?

cut and paste
now I have 1 to 17 and 23 till 31 may

had some days off, viewing WD when back again: it rained that day 5.6 mm. Win2k did not react for WD and had to close down WD
save and exit did not work had to exit wihout saving and reboot Win2k

now I have no more rain at all at mainscreen
data:
from 1 to 17 yes
from 23 no
and no year totals for rain finding in log or csv data files  8O

i am pretty sure the problem with the time in the log files from the data extract stems from the fact that the time that wd uses to know when the program was last running, is only updated when you go exit, save and exit…
ie if wd crashes, then it does not get updated…
i will fix that…
but you can update it manualy, in the wdisplay.ini file, as,
[Davis download]

but for fixing you logfile, zip and email me it i will have a look see…

hi

oeps forgot to zip 2

in a new 10.12r, the davis download time/date entry should get updated every minute while wd is running…
which will be much better than have it only update when you go exit, save and exit
