Hello all. It’s somewhile since I last used this forum and it’s so different but I’ll try to explain what’s happened. A few weeks ago, we had a power cut and since then I cannot retrieve any data to feed Weather Display. The set up I’m using is Windows 11 and a Vantage Pro2 weather station which continues to work fine and has done for years. The Davis VP2 console continues to display weather data normally. The data for the Weather Display prog should come via the Raspberry Pi 4 which is using a SD card flashed with a Meteobridge Image. The PI is connected to my network via a cable/network switch and the PC with a cable. The Meteobridge interface is working fine with it’s i.p. address… WD should send data to Wunderground via the Meteobridge or WD interface and both seem able to connect to Wunderground. However, when starting Weatherdisplay, it fails to import data from Wunderground though connections to it appear ok. One thing that puzzles me is that the connections between the Meteobridge and the internet show 3 options :- Serial, Serial/USB and TCPIP. I think it should be the 2nd of these but it offers no devices in the dropdown. The cable to the Davis console is USB and connects to a Davis Datalogger. This is the long standing setup since I migrated from a Meteohub 4 years ago. Does anyone have any ideas as to what’s going on. This is driving me nuts!!
Hi Richard and welcome back to the forum. I changed the software about 18 months ago because I was getting increasingly concerned about the obsolecence of the previous software.
I have used Meteobridge in the past but probbaly abouy 5 years ago so my memory is a little limited on the subject. If I’m understanding when you’ve said…
So Meteobridge connects to your Davis console by USB. That probably means that WD would connect to Meteobridge over your (presumably) WiFi LAN?
I assume you’re looking at this in WD? If so I would have expected that to be a TCP/IP connection.
If that’s correct then I wonder if when you had a power cut the IP addresses on your network changed? Check what the Meteobridge IP address is and make sure that WD is using the same address. If your router allows you to define static IP addresses for your LAN then make sure that Meteobrodge is given one.
