Hi, i have a wmr300 which i use WD on a laptop always on, ive jsut built a rpi4 4g media / nas server and want to setup on that now because its on 24hrs a day anyway.
It I have full Rasp buster installed with desktop so would be nice to have the gui with it too.
Is there anyway to make this possible and instructions. I will create a how to with all this information and post on here after too.

you should be able to just set the station type needed in the config.txt (235) and it should hopefully work
(with the com port number set to U (ie usb port)
thanks for that, is there instructions? i dont really want the webserver if possible because omv uses port 80. I want it so it logs on the rpi and i can see it on the small touch display too.

Ok so i followed this info
now when i run i get looking for file /home/pi/consolewdfiles/outdata.txt
I created that text file and make it access / edit by anyone and restarted it and it still says the same.
My using is WMR300 if ive not mentioned before. Am i supposed to install a driver for it? if so where / how.

try instead setting station type to 234 (exit consolewd then change that)
