Rotor Yaesu G-5500 and the software of WXtrack alignment : UV Meter Index, Solar

Hello,

(Sorry for my English, it is about a translator)

Here it comes me to mind to have information powerful on the follow-up : UV Meter Index, temp/Solar.

Will be able one to associate to you with a rotor Yaesu G-5500 and the software of WXtrack alignment of (David Taylor’ S) so that the probes are in direction always sun.
That improved to you it them information ?

Serge

There is no benefit to having a rotator to position any solar or UV sensor which measures global solar radiation, if you have one which measures direct radiation then it may work but I believe that these direct instruments are expansive and usually come with a mount which will do this anyway or are designed dfferently so they can be statically mounted. To my knowledge all the one wire and Davis instruments measure global radiation.

I am aware of a new type or sensor being beta tested at present which will measure direct radiation but it has been designed for static mounting.

Stuart

The problem in the goblal brilliance(radiation) it is because it seems that a day with some clouds can add of the brilliance(radiation) (express + diffu), thus fousser of the data.
For it certain company(society) works at present on the project.

Serge

It’s not really a false result when cloud increases the global radiation value because that really is extra global radiation that is hitting the surface of the earth.

Exemple :

If you are looking for sunshine hours then aiming a gobal sensor at the sun will not eliminate the cloud reflection. Stuart is (of course) correct, you need a different type of sensor. You could modify a global sensor by reducing its viewing angle and using a sun tracking mount. WD could record the output, but I don’t see any reason why WD should be the interface between the WXTrack software and the Yaesu rotator. Surely there must already exist interfaces that WXTrack users are using to track satellites.

I believe that static mounted sensor uses a spherical mirror to eliminate the need for tracking.

Niko,

I have already the license WXtrack and the rotor, indeed the software can follow the sun thanks to the associated rotor WXtrack. I contacted a colleague of the I.N.R.A, which confirms that influences enormously.
