retrieving data from Davis VP2

Hi.

I got my Davis Vantage Pro 2 up and running in august and soon after started to use parallels and windows WD combo, to display data and upload to wunderground from my mac. Ive now decided to use the mac version of WD but it only shows data from when it was run, not the previous data.

How can I retrieve the older data.

not sure exactly what you are meaning
I think you are meaning that history data at start up is not working?
but live data is working?
or do you mean previous data is not showing after start up?
is the switch on in the data logger setup?

The data logger switch is turned on and interval set to 1 minute.

I cannot see history back any further than the day I started to use the mac version of WD , 1week ago. I had expected the mac version to read the window versions history files.

My main question was how do I get the history off the Davis vp2 to show in WD. The Davis has been running for 5 weeks now.

was not clear
its that you are not able to view the previous stored data files on the mac version?
did you copy the windows version data files folder to
~/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/datafiles/
?

I didn’t move any files at all. If I find and move the window data files to ~/Library/Application Support/wdisplay/datafiles/ will I lose any recent data if files over write. As I said earlier I have about 4 weeks of Windows data and 1week + of mac data.

ah
best thing is to combine the data
i.e add the windows logfile data to the beging of the mac version logfile data
then convert the logfile to data file
and recreate the last 31 days data file (all on the mac version)
try that
(or do that in reverse, i.e add the mac version logfile to the original windows version logfile, then convert that combined logfile to data files and then copy across the updated data files)

I sat down to do the logfile merge but theres quite a few .csv and .txt files in the folder, which do I merge?
Sorry to be dim but is there a guide or similar to help with this.
