RESOLVED - WD FTP will not upload to my website server

Yesterday my WD ftp stopped uploading to my website on my Dreamhost server. I checked FileZilla and found that I could not access my website on Dreamhost using FileZilla. I contacted Dreamhost and they had me change my “ftp” password on their site which I did. I was then able to access my site using FiileZilla. Unfortunately WD’s ftp will not connect to the site on Dreamhost and I can not update my websites data. Questions … Are there any other password setting locations in WD in addition to Control Panel - FTP & Connections - Connections that need to be verified?

I’m running WD version 10.37/S147 and Windows 7-64 OS. Below is a copy of WD’s ftp log file.

Interestingly, not related to WD, my GRLevel3 radar application will also not publish to my website.

Thanks for your input.

UPDATE 1-31-23 Resolved. I had to enable FTP access using Port 21 on Dreamhost.

Did you restart WD after you changed the password there?

Yes I did restart WD after the password change. No go. I also rebooted the PC. Thanks for your thought.

Well, there are settings in Control Panel > Real Time FTP and Control Panel > Internet File Creation, but the main setting is as you describe.

Interestingly, your website says you are running 10.37S build 134. . .

Yes, I was on that version when the issue occurred yesterday. I updated to the latest WD version today.

I wonder if they’ve switched off plain text FTP passwords and now want you to use FTPS? FileZilla will probably cope with that change just be seeing the different prompts and send an encrypted password. I think WD supports FTPS but I don’t know how to enable it.

There is a setting on the Main Internet page, Control Panel > FTP & Connections > Connections.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Much appreciated! I thought that maybe my 20 year weather hobby might be coming to a screeching end … :-k
