Replacing Davis Vantage Pro 2

I need to replace my Davis Vantage Pro 2. It’s currently a 6322M, which is an Australian model.

This is the second Davis Vantage Pro I’ve had. Before that I had a Davis Vue.

All of the ultimately had a problem of ants getting into them. Does anyone have any recommendations for either a replacement Davis device, or another brand. It’s just a home weather station. I want it to work with weather-display software. It it works with an online / cloud service, I guess that’s a bonus, but it’s not necessary.

I think the ant problem needs to be addressed first other wise the same thing will happen to which ever unit you get

When I lived in Florida, I had issues with bugs, small frogs, and lizards getting into my VP2. I solved it by placing a paint can filter over the “beehive”. Here’s what one is called on Amazon U.S.: Paint Strainer Bags 1 Gallon Paint Filter Bag White Fine Mesh Disposable Bag Bucket Strainer with Elastic Drawstring Top Opening. It’s made for a 1-gallon paint can.

I put it on from the bottom of the VP2 and tied the elastic drawstring around the base of the rain cone. It kept all the critters out and I had to replace the filter every couple of months because the sun deteriorated it and it would fall apart.
