Real time ftp keeps stopping

Windows 11
Davis VP2
WD 10.37S B134
WD Real time Clientraw FTP, vers 10.1

Just started having an issue with the real time ftp intermittently stopping. It will last maybe 10 minutes before disconnecting. The non-real time ftp works fine as does the WU RapidFire. The text below shows 20 seconds of uploads before the failure. Green text is successful, the red text shows the log off and disconnect from the server before doing the ftp command, and the purple text shows the login and ftp after clicking “Restart” in the Real time Clientraw FTP. I have restarted WD and the PC several times. I even uninstalled WD B131 and installed B134 as if I was moving WD to a new computer. I didn’t make any changes to WD itself. I am uploading to my home server where the website is hosted and have been doing so since October 2021 with no issues and have not made any changes to the server side. I’ve looked at several discussions about ftp issues in this forum but didn’t come across anything else I could try. Looking for suggestions.

I was going to ask if you had ticked the box for “Kill process and restart if failed uploads”, but failing every 10 minutes is a bit excessive.

I also do not recognise BINARY mode in your log, but I am running FTP 10.1 with WD build 120, so there may have been changes.

Sorry I can’t think of anything else. :?

Here’s what my Real time cientraw setup looks like. I don’t have the box for “Kill process and restart if failed uploads” ticked, so maybe I’ll try that. Otherwise, I don’t think I’ve changed these settings since installing this weather station and WD in 2018.

There’s an option called “Restart/Reset Interval” in the left center of the window. Mine is set to Every 30 minutes. I wonder if I should set it to Every 5 minutes. Although, once the ftp stops, it doesn’t restart or reset at all - I have to do it manually, even well after 30 minutes since it stopped.

I used to rely on the Restart/Reset Interval setting, using restart and not reset, but it took about 7 minutes to restart each time. I did try to find out if that interval could be shortened. . . but I now rely on the “Kill process. . .” setting.

I think the Restart/Reset setting was mainly for ISPs that didn’t allow 24/7 FTP login.

The “Kill process. . .” setting generates a new FTP icon in the system tray each time. I check my unattended computer every day and it usually has about 20 ghost icons that you just ho(o)ver away with the mouse.

But if I were you I would still wonder why I am only recently getting trouble, and so frequently. . .

Well, after another couple of WD restarts and Windows reboots, the real-time ftp started working properly again. Nothing else has changed that I’m aware of and I had restarted/rebooted multiple times before with no luck. I’m glad it’s working but would like to know the root cause so it might be possible to fix if it happens again.
