I’ve just noticed that something seems to be wrong here with the annual rainfall cut off.
My ‘rain year’ is January 1st to December 31st, and I noticed this year that at 9am on the 31/12 the year rainfall got reset to zero, when it should not have reset until this morning at 9am.
In Australia, our daily rainfall is based upon 9am today, till 9am tomorrow, so daily rain in WD is set to reset at 9am.
Last year it did the same, but I didn’t notice because we didn’t get any rain at all on the 31st of December, so never looked.
Having now looked, it did the same on 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 too.
Currrently running v10.37 s128 , but have run other versions during that time frame.
The Australian 9am rainfall reset is a bit confusing.
Any rain that falls from 9am is recorded the next day. Example: rain that falls from 0900 (30 December) to 0859 (31 December) is recorded on 31 December. Rain that falls from 0900 (31 December) to 0859 (1 January) is recorded on 1 January. Hope this makes it a bit clearer and explain your problem.
There is an issue in WD with the Australian 9am rainfall reset time, particularly at the beginning of the month. There have been many posts re this issue (me included), so Brian is aware of it.
As Allan (Bluewater) said, the Aust. rainfall is / has been a problem and I have been one to try and help get it sorted…
Being an EX BoM weather observer / tech officer, I am well aware of what and how our rainfall is recorded.
Some of the “Problems”, I have tried to get fixed for some time with Brian, seem to be in hard basket, and I feel Brian is not two happy with me.
BUT we live in hope that these problems can be fixed.
Cheers
