I’ve noticed several times now that my system will crash (as in complete shut down and restart) during rain 8O Possibly a bug in the 1-wire rain routine somewhere ?
Maybe the 1 wire rain gauge counter board is the problem . If it’s the original Dallas version replace the SMD capacitor with an electrolyic replacement . Also the battery is also know to fail ( and take down the complete 1 wire network ) speaking from past experience .

Thanks Vinay for those pointers, I’ll have a look. Whatever it is its causing the PC to crash, not just stopping sensors from responding. It did twice decide to read (for no apparent reason) 146mm of rain in an hour. Like something was in the gauge just tipping the bucket from side to side. Is that a symptom of the battery/cap problem?
Brian,
I can’t see anything turned on in the alerts section. Also it has rained a couple of times over the last 2 days and the system stayed up #-o.
Guess I’ll just keep an eye on it, and will have a look at the things Vinay has pointed out.
