Wim has said for a while that he was trying to reduce his costs and was looking for alternative ways to provide support and downloads.
For those of us who sent him $$ I have to wonder what is so expensive that it’s forcing him to stop support?
Who says I am stopping support?
I continue to answer any question and help to solve any problem on this forum, on WX-forum and on the Dutch forum. As I did in the past days, total of 20 posts in September.
Just visit my avatar and check my posts.
I made the code free to all so it can be re-distributed by others.
pwsWD can be supported by others also, one can even charge for the support.
But to keep all kind op demo websites for Leuven-Scripts (only a handful of users) or PWS_Dashboard is a waste of money.
I do got nearly 0 donations in the past 6 months. Total for 2023-2024 less than 200 euro.
And that includes 1 yearly 50 euro donation to keep my WebCam streaming for neighbours.
That is not enough for the sites. And certainly not enough for new devices / stations.
But enough to give support for existing users, if they did donate or did not.
I will check if there was a donation in the last 18 months from travelingrvwx.com and I will return it.

I have always found your support superb.
My worry was you were going to “retire” and that there would be no-one to fill your shoes.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to question intentions based on what your site reports. I never complained about your support and certainly never asked for a refund. But you have to admit that closing up shop and selling your domain does not instill confidence.
Most of us here are distrustful ever since Brian left the forum under questionable circumstances. I tried to support Brian’s efforts and I did the same with you.
Wim, your support has always been outstanding. I am very surprised more people do not donate. I try to send you 20 Euros every year. Thanks for you support.

Wim, i can give you free hosting on my own server. It’s located in Germany in hosting facility, very fast. PM me if you want it.

But it is not a one host I have to use. I have to test and find errors on windows and linux servers, different PHP versions, with or without caching servers an so on.
In-house I have win10 and win11 boxes and a raspberry.
Outside hosting is used for the demo sites which run all main versions of pwsWD, from the ‘first’ wd34-PHP5 version until the latest 2012_lts release.
Also the update scripts need two totally different external sites.
I think we better lock this topic as it was an accident when I was testing the “redirect to free hosting” and the old sites showed that message.
