Problems amending modify daily rain and monthly/annual totals

Hi

I’m having some building work done and this meant I had to remove the main unit (David Vantage Pro2) from it’s post and lay it down out of the way of the digger. This meant that the rain cover was off and it’s been a bit breezy so the tipping spoon has been rattling and racked up huge rain totals. No problem I thought, I’ll just amend the totals in the software. So I went to Action>View and Modify Log File/Rain totals and modified the daily rain totals for each day and then clicked “use the corrected amount” and saved the changes. I had assumed that the monthly/annual totals would automatically update bu they don’t seem to. Does this mean I have to modify everything manually? The daily totals have updated ok but not the monthly/annual totals, it’s still showing huge totals and of course this affects the all-time records as well. Am I missing something?

When I have had similar problems like ants building a nest in my tipping rain gauge which resulted in ridiculous amounts of “rain” recorded, I have corrected it successfully using Control Panel/Offsets & Initial Rain. Towards the bottom there is “Adjust All Rainfall Totals By This Amount Only”. This has worked for me.

I do it by, double click the rain area on the main screen, from that next screen, i click Set startup rain totals, from there you can modify them all in one go, you will see what i mean, its the last one in the list and prob the only box ya need to touch

OK guys that’s it sorted, thanks for the help

Hey Bashy, Do you know if that changes the log file also?

Erm, I would have thought so, prob need Brian to confirm it or check the log file
