I just downloaded install file v10.37c. It seems it hasn’t just updated old version, but replaced it, in a way. I can still run 10.37a with my settings from the icon on my desktop, but the new replaced version is in my start menu, as well as all old files have been replaced with the new version settings - aaaargh ! Can I get my files back with all old settings somehow?
Can you check to see if the newer version installed to a different location?
See that’s the thing. I downloaded it right into old version assuming it would overwrite old. I’ll poke around though and see if somehow it went somewhere else.
OK, yup that’s what happened. I downloaded into program files. Now, to safely do this without removing old files and settings, can I just remove new version from control panel?
You need to see what folder the version of WD you want to keep is in.
Default is c:\program files\wdisplay.
Download the latest update file to your desktop. Run it.
When the installer starts, make sure that it is pointed to the directory that contains the version you want to update. IE: it should point to c:\program files\wdisplay\ if that is where the old version resides.
