Problem with using new icons

Brian, you probably won’t know what is wrong but I thought I’d document this in case it happens to someone else:

I installed the new icons from Weather_Display_icons.zip. Everything looked fine. But at the top of the hour that followed (ie minute 00), WD stopped responding. I had to force a close and restart of the program. This happened every hour on the hour. I saw nothing in the program error log or any other log file and therefore cannot provide more information. I reverted to the default icons and the problem is gone.

Eric.

strange that
what do you have WD set to do at that time?

The only things that happen on the hour that don’t happen at other times are the upload of alldaymovie.swf and videolastday.swf, http metar download, creation and upload of the summary image.

I had the same problem. I installed some of the new icons and it locked up WD at the top of the hour. I did get what looked like a blank icon showing up in the upper left part of the main screen display. I restored the default icons and everything is fine.

:?

what was the icon showing before the hour?
I will see if i can duplicate the problem here

Hi Brian

day or night?

I tried both the day and night overcast new icons
with a default setup of WD, setting to use that icon

no lock up or problem found

so might be a setting thing…I would need to have the settings files…

anyone else apart from these 2 have problems?

Hi Brian

Sorry that I didn’t get back sooner. Mine was daytime. I think it was during the 12 noon update, but not sure at I did the updates after 11 am and I noticed that the web page was not updating at 12 noon. I’m not sure if it did my 11:15, 11:30 11:45 am updates or not. Not really a big deal as I’ll just stick with the standard icons.

Thanks

Cheers

i have changed the icons to .gif and made them smaller in size (I think that could have been the problem, the large size)
in the latest full install
