Possible cURL problem

Seem to be having a problem with “Aeris” forecasts and aurora today, but other things are working. And I checked with another site that uses these (thanks, Jim!), no problems there.

N.B. we use a different k-index file to the standard one.

Did you try to use the URL in your browser at home?

https://data.api.xweather.com/forecasts/55.8983,-3.2077?&format=json&client_id=_API_SETTING_&client_secret=_API_SETTING_&filter=1hr&limit=26

If it is OK in a browser, it should also work on your webserver if the proxi setup is correct.
The error message at your server:

CONNECT tunnel failed, response 500

The aeris URL is correct when I test it with my credentials.

The aurora URL works OK when I test it.

https://services.swpc.noaa.gov/products/noaa-planetary-k-index.json

Succes,
Wim

Thanks, Wim. Yes, both work OK in the browser. I’ll contact my host. . .

(But why only these two URLs, according to PWS_module_test.php? )

Apparently “There are problems with the internet connection in Edinburgh today - we’ve got hundreds of support tickets in.”

I’ll just have to wait and see. . .

Probably a herd of haggis have gnawed through some fibres.

Haven’t seen any haggis, just a lot of workmen installing fibre around Edinburgh. . . oh, wait

I don’t know what connection my ISP has, but I’m still on BT FTTC with a landline phone, soon to be phased out for Digital Voice (VoIP). I’ve already changed the monitored alarm system and will soon “upgrade” my broadband to include VoIP before it is forced upon me, but I doubt if I will go for FTTP – yet. I don’t need it.

BTW, my cURL problems have disappeared – until the next time :grinning:
