I still trying to figure out Stormtracker vs Lightning 2000.
I use the carter lake templates for my website. Once I get a lightning detector I would like to update the web stuff.
Anyone have sites they can show me that WD did automatically?
Thanks
Mine.
click on the globe to the left.
that was all done within WD no extra stuff? if so thats cool
Well the lightning page is generated by Nexstorm software for my Boltek detector.
In WDL, the lightning data is provided by WD which it gets from Nexstorm.
Wasp2 Display with Nexrad Overlay - http://bvwx.com/wasp2/wasp2.png
Lightning page with screencap from NexStorm (auto-ftp) - http://bvwx.com/wx5.html
- There is a storm track close and map is on auto-zoom to farthest track. Normally shows out to 750 mile range.
The page I viewed was showing the StormVue (Java) display…
I believe all that WD can do with lightning data is log it, create a graph from it and when there is a storm flag this up to Weather display live to display the current current conditions icon.
Soon, weather display will be able to log if a storm has occured via the Detailed Climate reports under significant conditions.
I use lightning 2000 myself. Not as much internet functionality with it compared to nexstorm, but lets see what the future holds.
I prefer lightning 2000 myself, though i would like to use the new mobile app that is now on nexstorm, but a screenshot uploaded every minute can provide the same information!
great stuff. still undecided. guess ill wait a few months and see what updates are out?
Your correct Dan, I should of said the data for that page is generated & uploaded by Nexstorm, not WD.
