Been plagued with phantom notifications for the past week or so. My avatar top right shows 1 or 2 new events
and if I open them it shows, e.g.,
Of course, if I click on them nothing new has happened. . . 
Is it possible that a message in the thread has been edited/changed? Wim has been making a number of changes, e.g. editing old messages/splitting threads prior to Nov 1st so perhaps youâre being notified of those changes?
I donât think itâs that. For example, here is how I was notified on site of your reply:
I got an e-mail for your reply, but not for the phantom.
There are only three members and two topics involved: the two topics about Meteoalarm shown in my first post, and members @pwsdashboard, @ktrue and @Cavaliere89. I am âfollowingâ two of these, but not the third.
Itâs almost as if Iâm getting a notification every time the thread is read.

On reflection I think I got one from @hcorrin too; so that means I got them from all the contributors to the âarea codesâ topic and all the recent contributors to the âtranslationâ topic.
Iâm investigating a clue. I need to do a forum rebuildâŚback in 10 minutes.
Rebuild complete. Hopefully the weird notifications wonât happen now.

Reckon 24 hours without a phantom deserves a Solution, but I canât find one
What was the problem, or is it too complicated to explain?
It looks like it was associated with a plugin I was experimenting with, or at least it stopped happening when I removed the plugin. I donât think the extra functionality would have been very useful to us so itâs not a great loss.
