Oops! I did it again!

Britney here…I mean, Asprey

Don’t know what I’ve done here, but my files have stopped ftp’ing completely!!!

I’ve been looking and looking and cannot see what the heck I’ve done, bad me!!!

Please help as it’s completely screwing up my web page…and my brain!

I’ll be up for approx. 10 more minutes if anyone can suggest a quick fix, otherwise I’ll check the forum tomorrow morning.

Thanks all!

Jeez, 10 minutes to solve the problem and no clues 8O

What, if anything, is in the ftp log?

Have you checked your FTP logs?

Have you tried closing WD, checking with Task Manager that all aspects have been closed, and then restart?

-Bob

Sorry, but I did warn you about the brain!!!

I have closed down, etc., and even upgraded to the latest version of WD tonight, in the hope that it would help.

I attach a copy of the ftp log from WD. Hope this helps…

Thanks Niko & Bob!

The ftp switch is on and I am able to manually upload some wxlocal files, but it has not uploaded automatically for almost 24 hours now. It should upload every 15 minutes.

My webcam capture is uploading OK, but not my webfiles.

Brian,

Where will I find that…???

Nearly 1am here, and brain almost dead now!

Thank you!

I’m off to bed now, so hopefully will pick up your replies in the morning.

Thanks again!

control panel, customise internet and file creation setup

Good Morning!

Yes Brian, I have got that in use, the main switch is on and all of the appropriate files are selected to update every 15 minutes.

The webcam image is not working now, but the link to Wunderground is updating properly???

HELP!!!

and so do you have times set to create and times set to upload the files needed

Hi Brian,

All necessary files in the advanced internet settings page are enabled/green light on, and uploads set to every 15 minutes.

Regards,

Is ftpupd even firing? If it is firing does it show the same results each time?

-Bob

Hi Bob,

This is what the ftp log in wd says each time:

Start Time/date*:13:19:11 06/09/2007
Permanent connection selected
Permanent connection, will do ftp now
Finshed email agenda
Finshed email agenda, and more Internet agenda items to do…

However, there are no webfiles in the ‘current files to be uploaded’ page (ftp error log). I guess they should all be in there???

ftpupd is firing every minute for the webcam but with no yellow arrow for the upload. Every quarter hour the ftpupd does not fire up, but should!

Regards,

I attach a copy of my ftp log and ftplogfull in the hope that it will be of some help!

ftplogfull.txt (818 Bytes)

ftplog.zip (53.8 KB)

I see a number of empty lines:

Files to upload*
Local files:
Local files: C:\wdisplay\webfiles\webcamimage.jpg

Same for Remote files:

In viewing my logs I don’t see any empty entries like that…

However why they are there I don’t know and not sure if that may be the problem or not…

-Bob

Bob,

I certainly haven’t touched anything that would affect the ftplog in that way…is there any way of checking on a past ftp log to see if the gaps existed? Do you think I can amend the gaps?

Is there anything basic in wd that I might have deleted or changed in error, that is fundemental to the ftp (pulling the webfiles into the ftp programme)?

Tony

Local files: C:\wdisplay\webfiles\customscreen2.gif

is what I think should be in the blank space, at least from looking at your log file. Hope that helps.

try resetting the web files location in the web files/web page setup
also make sure you have times set to create the files and not just times to upload them in the customise internet and file creation setup
and also .zip and email me your settings files

Brian,

I’ve just e-mailed you my zipped files, as requested. Thank you!

I have checked the other things you mentioned, and they are all correct…

Many thanks.

Tony

i have your settings files
for some reason you have unticked, use weather displays own ftpupd.exe
in the connections setup
re tick that
