NWS Forecast - truncation

My NWS forecast seems to be truncating some text plus it does not show a full 9 day forecast.

  1. Does not show 9 day… This is probably due to it taking up space with “TODAY”, “TONIGHT”, X, X NIGHT.

  2. The last one seems to get truncated:
.THURSDAY NIGHT…Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of rain showers in
the evening, then a chance of rain showers with a slight chance
of snow showers after midnight. Lows in the 20s. Chance of

The full download for the forecast does not stop there:
.THURSDAY NIGHT…Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of rain showers in
the evening, then a chance of rain showers with a slight chance
of snow showers after midnight. Lows in the 20s. Chance of
precipitation 40 percent.
.FRIDAY…Rain showers with a slight chance of snow showers.
Little or no snow accumulation. Highs in the 40s.
.FRIDAY NIGHT…Rain and snow showers in the evening, then snow
showers likely with a slight chance of rain showers after
midnight. Light snow accumulation. Lows 15 to 25.
.SATURDAY…Snow showers. New moderate snow accumulation. Highs
in the 30s.

Any ideas to get the full forecast?

What’s the URL for your webpage?

For your forecast, are you using Weather-Display to get the zone forecast or the API forecast for your page?

What WD tag are you using on the template for your forecast page?

I’m using WD. At least I don’t think I’m using an API.

NWS Forecast: %5dayforecasttimestamp%

<p><b><span style="text-transform: uppercase">%5dayforecastdayday1%</span></b>'
%5dayforecastday1%

There’s an API option on the WD setting for forecast, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
WD fetches the Zone area forecast (text) and parses it into days. The Zone forecast isn’t as precise as a point forecast, so it shows a range of temperatures and the %5dayforecast9% tag may overflow with multiple days in it.

For a HTML-only site, you are likely stuck with that NWS Zone forecast with WD. If your site offers PHP, then other options are available for use on the page.
