Now my NOAA forecast data isn't displaying?

,

In the last couple days changes were made to my site to get the conditions icon to display properly and for my web pages to upload properly. Somewhere along the line the forecast data is not uploading.

I am getting an hourly download of the NOAA 5 day forecast file. I confirmed it is in the wdisplay directory.

What would keep WD from not reading it and inserting the data into the home and forecast page?

Here is the content of the forecast file:

Any and all help appreciated. Thanks!

sheesh…between when I wrote that message and now it magically appeared…

All day long the data has been missing. I have noticed the intermittent nature of it before but thought since I have (with your help) resolved most other problems with the site it was time to tackle this problem. Will reply again when it has failed again.

Sorry 'bout that.

Lew

On the main weather display screen, when you left click on the weather conditions icon (just above the time) does the forecast show up properly?
If it does, then WD is reading it correctly, just have to figure out why it’s not uploading.

Also, I have had issue’s with NOAA having server problems and the forecast at times does not get downloaded. The file is blank. This has been going on and off the past two weeks.

I didn’t click on it at the time my web page had no data. I didn’t even know you could left click it  Lots of things I don’t know about the product.

When I left click it now I get two popups…one I would called a weather status banner and the other is the forecast…icons on top, text below.

Try right clicking in differant areas of WD as well. You find all sorts of goodies.
If WD isn’t ingesting the forecast, the forecast window would be blank.

The smaller image you called a “weather status banner”…is actually named the “summary image.gif”,… and yes the other larger one with the blue background is the Forecast with icons and text below Image.

Dont give up on your website farmingtonweather…I too had and sometime’s still get Isuues/Obstacles/problems, with my Site, configuration or just something that goes screwy over time, and then effects my website or WD in general. whatever the problem is, all you need to do is come to the forums and I know someone will eventually help you solve the issue you may be having.

I have had many frustrating things happen to my site , or to things misconfigured in My WD setup, but after taking the time to try and figure out the problem, then asking the more expierience user’s in the fourms here for help…usually always get whatever may be screwed up…working correctly.

There are so many different setting’s and things that can be done with WD…it is Mind boggling…but that is the beauty of the program.

Thanks for the info and kind words…to make matters worse, my Davis arrived today so I will be installing the new system and all the complications or getting the new data into WD in addition to the install complications.

BTW, I do have lots of outstanding questions such as a response to the file list I made. I need to bring that subject back up again or someone raise attention to it again.

Thanks again,

Lew

Hello Lew,

You said your “DAVIS” Arrived today…what unit did you get? vantage pro2? wireless? with or without the solar and UV?

I got my davis vantage pro 2 wirless model 6152 (without Solar and UV), About 10 days ago…and it is working Excellent with WD, Not a single crash or problem. This was to replace the exsiting Weathermax Unit I was using, which was not working too well with WD, and also didnt have the outdoor humidty sensor,… which lead to other problems with dew point, cloud height, heat index and a few other’s.

The switch over from my weathermax unit to the new davis unit took less than 5 minutes to do…within WD Setting’s, and connecting it to the serial port.

If you need any assistance feel free to ask, or search the forums.

Have a good evening…Chris

Hello…there is another note string regarding my decision what to buy:

I had already decided to get the FARS (6153) and although I didn’t think I needed it, I was convinced to buy the solar sensor. My current Honeywell has the UV sensor and fakes the solar, now I will have a solar sensor and I am not sure if it fakes UV?

I am trying to debate if I want to run my old and new system side by side for awhile or to take out my old system right away…the only thing I really need to change right away is the anemometer as the new one needs to go where the old one was. That is unless I put the whole Davis in a temporary location set up in it’s stock format…

So many decisions

Check the other string and thanks for the offer!
