Novice w/ Questions

That would be next on my list

Nico - thanks again! I played around with this for a couple of hours and haven’t found the right sequence that I need. I’m going to look again tomorrow. This is driving me nuts. I just want to get this up and running and I don’t know if it’s just me (quite poss) or if it’s GoDaddy technicalities or what; but this is much more difficult than anticipated.
Let me know if you have anymore ideas on where to find this - otherwise I’m digging through everything.
Thanks!
Mike

Did you create the missing “wxenthus” directory?

550 Can’t change directory to public_html/sharonville.com/wxenthus: No such file or
directory

public_html is the directory you land in when connecting…sharonville.com is a subdirectory in public_html…and wxenthus is the subdirectory in the sahronville.com directory that your WD is attempting to ftp your files into…

HTH’s…

I would question whether /sharonville.com/ is a valid directory name, but I’m not familiar with godaddy’s directory structures. I would follow the suggestions above, login with an ftp client like filezilla which will show the directory structure.

So I should create the “wxenthus” directory?

attached portion of the filezilla run…

Do the same again with filezilla but this time click and open the public_html directory so we can see what is in there.

So I believe this is what part you’re asking for?

now do the same for sharonvilleweather.com

see attachment

in the ftp setup it appears that you have your remote directory set as “public_html/sharonville.com” but should be public_html/sharonvilleweather.com/wxenthus

(note: I’m not familiar with godaddy, but the above looks logical)

So as I am a “novice” at all of this, what do I need to do? Then, once I do that, should my website start populating? Right now on-line, it is just giving me a 403 forbidden error and as I posted a page back, it shows what I’m getting on my computer. I’m learning as I go…

I assume you are using some sort of template for your weather page.
You will have to upload the template files to your website. (follow the template instructions to the letter)

Feel free to send PM’s or emails

My templates are listed at the beginning. I’m sorry to say that I do not know what you mean?? If my name should be something different then how do I change it, and how do I upload my info to my templates and basically let my website come alive!!??

1/ if something is not named correctly, how do I fix it?
2/ my template pages are on page 1; and it is page 1 & 2.
3/ all I want is for my webpage to finally come alive vs “forbidden error” and nothing to work
4/ like to see that my webpage is updating from my weatherstation at home on a consistent basis.

I APPRECIATE greatly everyone’s help! I wish I knew more and this has gone much farther than I thought it ever would esp with templates out there; but when you have someone like me ignorant in this, it is taking longer.

So thank you!
Mike

what directory on the server did you upload the template to?

sharonvilleweather.com/wxenthus which is where the problem was I believe? Others have been seeing that wxenthus has not been seen as part of the domain, but it “should” be. Again, news to me? It’s what has been the hold up to this point - if you see before this.

I think you need upload the template files into public_html
By doing this, your web address would be http://sharonvilleweather.com
If you want to put it in wxenthus, then you need to create a folder in public_html callled wxenthus and upload the template files to that folder, then your web address will be http://sharonvilleweather.com/wxenthus

If sharonvilleweather.com is a addon domain. This might help you
