Norton Anti Virus 2005 and Weather Display

Hi Guys,

Not really sure where to post this, so here is as good as any.

Running Windows XP and Norton Anti Virus 2005.

Last month or so, been running WDL also.

Everytime I run weather diaplay, the first time that clientrawrealtimeftp runs, norton pops up a message similiar to

Norton has blocked an intrusion attemp from an imternet worm (trojan), and points to the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe file.

Anyone else see this?? If so, did ya get Norton to ignore it??

Suggest you try using the Passive setting for FTP, that works better with most firewalls.

OK, Will give that a go.

it amazes me how much trouble norton antivirus and firewall causes
i do not recommend those products

I use ZoneAlarm for my firewall. It pops the same message after WD updates. I do not consider this a bug but a firewall doing its job. It is no big deal to tell the firewall that the new program requesting internet access is safe.

thats fine if the program has changed, but this person reports its asking permision everytime the program is run

with zone alarm pro, you can set to always let a program through (i.e set it as it changes frequently)

I was just posting the link to that tip http://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/4914
