No warnings from meteoalarm

Hi

No warnings in pwsdashboard, but meteoalarm and yr.no show:
Forest fire danger, yellow level, Nordland north of Saltdal and Troms west of Lyngen Alps, 2023-07-16T22:00:00+00:00, 2023-07-17T22:00:00+00:00
Heavy rainshowers, yellow level, Large parts of Troms west of Lyngsalpan, 2023-07-17T11:00:00+00:00, 2023-07-17T22:00:00+00:00

Area code: NO 072

This is the cap file for Norway in .json format

There is no warning for your EMMA_ID NO072 in the files.
There are warnings for other areas using other EMMA_ID’s

There are also warnings with an area described by polygons on a map.
Nowhere I can find a piece of code to translate a free-formed area using polygons into one or more area codes.

Sorry this way of describing an alarm-area is new for me, I see no fast solution for this.

Wim

According to Ken True’s EMMA-ID map Troms is in NO020. . . Nordland is NO019. The sea area is NO804.

But NO020 does not appear in the CAP file, either. . .

thanks for trying Wim

My saratoga weather template shows no warning either

Alf

You’re confused and I’m confused but most of all Meteoalarm is confused. It has to work with so many data providers that there are bound to be problems.

Wim’s list of code changes shows old NO020 becomes new NO072.

In your saratoga folder there are a couple of Meteoalarm files (latest versions 24/4/23, I think): meteoalarm-codenames.json is downloaded from Meteoalarm and confusingly contains old codes (some wrong!) and new EMMA-IDs. It shows NO020 for Troms. Script meteoalarm-geocode-aliases.php also suggests (I think) that old NO072 becomes new NO020. That’s what is shown on Ken’s map.

You could try e-mailing Meteoalarm at [email protected] - I actually got a reply, once!
