yes, you do need to be using a recent verison
also, I will setup in separate setup in weather display so the settings can be changed/set easily, and a button to simply upload the files/changes to the server
but have not found the spare time yet…its the 6 year olds birthday today (6 years old!)

I have followd the directions in the readme file, I think, but can’t get this to work. When I go to http://stevesweather.sytes.net/svg.htm the page loads then I get an error:
Permission denied
line: 40, column 5
When I click OK on that one I get:
Object doesn’t support this property or method
line: 917, column 12
Any ideas?

reset the station name in the svg.htm and the url for the clientraw.txt file in the main.svg (near the top), and upload all the files to your web site
what is your web sites normal weather page url?
My normal url is http://stevesweather.sytes.net I am serving the page myself so I just extracted the files to the webfolder directory. I will redownload and unzip.

I can view it from the web server\weather server but there is no data, only Na. If I try to view it from another pc on my LAN I get the Permission denied but nothing after that other than a blank backgroung. The server is Windows 200.

the NA means it cant find the clientraw.txt file
is that in the same directory as the svg.htm and main.svg files and or have you set the location (the URL) to point to that file correctly, and do you have that file being created by WD (tick to do that, for a server , under the client/server setup, in the ftp/internet setup) (it gets saved in the webfiles folder)
I’m having a hard time getting the clientraw.txt to my site. The client part is chosen, well, look at the following screen and tell me if everything is set right:

that screen only creates the file on your HD, for use if you are running a web server
you neeed to go to:
setup, webfiles/web page/ real time ftp (it says that in ver s9.95d)
and then tab across to the real time ftp setup
then tick to do the uploads, and only tick you have a dial up connection if you have a dial up connection
and set a name, and there are a couple of other options you may or may not need

I think I can get mine working if I can get past the Permission denied error. I forgot when testing that I can’t get to my web pages from my LAN over the internet. Did that make sense? I can’t go out and back in, so from my LAN I can’t get to the url of my clientraw.txt, hence the Na.
I tried it today from a remote site and got the Permission denied error.
My web server is Windows 2000 Pro.

Wow, think I had mine going - had at least 10-20 sec. updates, with new .jpg background file, etc. - BUT…
Suddenly it stopped reading data from my station (count stopped at bottom). Had to leave and noticed many hours later, all wx numbers were the same. I had to rerun program to get data feeding back. Turned the feature (real time thing) back on, and wala… freeze again, no data being read in. Next time I reran program (after turning off feature), data synching or feed seemed off, very slow, half the normal data feed rate. Barometer started flying up to 31.00", etc. Finally after rerunning again, I’m back to normal.
Ultimeter 2000, Windows 98, AMD Pentium 1 clone, 64 Meg RAM.
Will experiment more tomorrow. BTW, what does Awhitu mean? What do we put there?
looks like you also need that tick under the client/server setup as well
as I tried to setup on my brothers PC, and that needed to be ticked as well
i will fix that (and or a program restart might fix it but didnt test that)
i also discovered the manual update in the ftp/internet setup did not work
i will add a list of files to update manualy too,thats a good idea
Brian, I have the real time viewer working good. I have a couple of questions. What is the time span of the wind graph. On my main WD screen I have my weather cam picture instead of the weather icon, is there a way to get the cam picture instead of the icon on the real time viewer?

Well, somehow it seems to be working this morning. Perhaps a restart “cleaned out” any problems I had. Seems to only be updating about every 25 seconds. Is that about average? (I do have a very fast cable modem) I figure net flow has some impact.
Also, what was the entry we were to put in that entry box right below the first check box?
actualy, you can increase the update rate (for the FTP)
decrease the delay between updating the images in tha java setup just above the SVG setup in the real time ftp setup
(the default is 25)
try 5

Now, I can change update rates depending on how active the weather is at the time.
