I believe my data is getting through despite the errors. CWOP shows growing data points on the trends. That’s a bit weird. Perhaps onbe element is missing? The full log looks ok. ok I can’t read the one for CWOP this time.
I have just checked and my CWOP data has not been uploaded since I started this new FTP program 5 hours ago, so I’ve gone back to the previous version for now.
Got this, only saw the FTP icon, not the other one.
list of files uploaded* actual messages from upload session* Start Time/date:1:02:05 p.m. 8/11/2008

Aprs data sending now…
Running croncwop.exe now
Doing abort procedure/program close…

Ok data is through and no errors.
THANKS BRIAN!!
TIME FOR OTHERS TO HELP HIM OUT SOME AS THE LATEST SPEEDY FTPUPD.EXE INCURRED SOME COSTS I BELIEVE…
having the cwop upload as separate is going to help anyway…as when it failed, it caused other problems
I have updated the .zip and full install versions now
with the much faster FTP uploads, my own weather site is now much more up to date
Still have the issue with ftpupd keeping the anything weather directory info, then closing on the error to my web page upload. Think I can get around it by shifting the anything weather to a different time. Thanks for all your efforts. The separate croncwop.exe works great.
just realised that the WeatherD.zip and full installs do not have the latest Ftpupd.exe
re uploading those now
Jim, if you could .zip and email me your settings , I will see if I can duplicate the problem here
The only issue I’m now having, even with the above mentioned 8.95 ftpupdt.exe version, is the ftp metar download. The old http metar download method works great. But with the newer ftp metar download method, I show the following in ftplogfull.txt:
list of files uploaded*
actual messages from upload session* Start Time/date:11:00:18 PM 11/6/2008

Sure enough, a check of my WD metar directory showed that the .met files were not updated, I assume because of the “overwrite is false” condition?
Downloaded and installed the new ftp yesterday and all is working very well and much faster. Also downloaded 8.96 just a bit ago. But here’s the but…
It appears that it may, and I stress may, have upset both my WASP2 and StrikeLink to StrikeStarUS. Not long after I installed it both programs have been unable to connect to their network. One other user who also uses WD said she had the same problem. I asked if she updated to the new ftp yesterday also but haven’t received a reply.
I reinstalled WD to an earlier version, 37M build 11 which has ftp version 8.90 which I believe is the old ftp. It didn’t make a difference as far as StrikeStar is concerned.
So I guess my question is can the new WD ftp cause problems with other ftp programs? Also there is a .dll file with the new. Is that also new and did it replace anything?
Thanks, Brian! Works perfectly for me now and as you say, a great deal faster!
Don’t know how you do it - you just keep making a great program better and better!!
