Initial thoughts on the 6313…
Initially I setup the 6313 with wifi enabled. I did not login to my Weatherlink account, just enabled wif, connected, updated the firmware, then setup to collect data from my VP2. I found that the console was grabbing my data, but for some reason it would not display that data on the homepage. All I got was data from the VP2 console sensors, indoor temp and humidity.
Frustrated I did a factory reset on the 6313 and began the setup again without wifi enabled. Everything went as expected and without a hitch. Homepage displays my VP2 data.
I will play around with it more and see how wifi affects the operation of the console. Seems very odd that it would behave differently based on if the wifi is enabled or not. I suspect it was Davis intention to get more people signed up for the pay-wall account.
Was it worth $400? Probably not. An expensive item just to grab and display data direct from the VP2/Vue via wireless. It can’t be used in place of the datalogger/console combo without purchasing an Weatherlink account, having it send your data, then downloading your data back to a computer running WD.
The 6313 is in no way a substitute console for the VP2/Vue station.
