New banner request

Looking for a new banner going into Summer time. Attached is the photo. Standard size, 800x100. You could put a pic of a anemometer on this one. If you could crop out the lower trees, that would be great, if not that’s fine…Thanks

hi
your photo mtsi.jpg is to small for this banner
you need a panorama photo for fit
see the example
bannertest1 = your photo
bannertest = a panorama photo

ore maybe this examples are ok ?

greetings Gert

I’ll get a new pic later.

About a year later, I’m back with a new pic…lol

Took this panorama pic today. Hopefully It could work for a new banner. The size I have now Is 800x100, but It could be made longer. I’m not too picky on the fonts, as long as it says “North Bend Weather” on it. If this pic doesn’t work, I do have more.

The benches in the pic can be cropped out. The main focal point Is the biggest Mountain in the pic.

The pic is too big to attach and I didnt want to resize it, so here’s a link to it on my site…

Thanks

That looks cool.

How about one of these?

Thanks Martin, I’ll give one of those a try.

#4 is the one I preferred as well. :wink:

To see if we can centre it a wee bit try replacing

<h1 class="headerTitle">

<center><a href="index.php" title="Browse to homepage"><img src="northbendwx4.png" width="800" height="100" alt="index" /></a></center>

</h1>

with

<h1 class="headerTitle" align="center">
        <a href="index.php" title="Browse to homepage"><img src="northbendwx4.png" width="800" height="100" alt="North Bend Weather" border="0" /></a>
      </h1>

in your header.php file. It may work, it may not but worth a go. :wink:

Martin, to me it does look centered In the wide screen mode with the style switcher. Does it look off to you?

If I could suggest one thing, the image is not bad, but it looks a bit dark and “dull”. I played around with the colors a bit - adjusted the color contrast and unified the shadows and then added a bit of green hue and using the levels reduced the contrast.

The font can be modified in whatever way you want, just let me know if interested. Also, anything can be added to it, an icon of your station
(see for example my station icons: Meteotemplate Extras)
So just say whatever you would like to add/edit etc. Its not a problem to do more or less anything.

The default is narrow on the style switcher and when I first loaded the screen it looked like the attached. :wink:

Oh…ok… I should change the default to wide.

I think you can set the image width to simply 100% and it will adjust based on page width/screen width. Also I just realized I didnt resize my image above, if you want I could also easily do that.

If the image css width is set to 100% it should adjust to the width of the element (div, page etc.) in which it is placed:

style=“width:100%”;

Hi Martin. You created this banner for me awhile ago and was wondering if you could alter the name on the banner? Lately my weather station has been getting confused with another station in a different state.

Wondering if the text in the banner could be altered to “North Bend, WA Weather?”

Thanks

Here you go, I still had the original Photoshop file saved so I just had to add “WA” to the text. :wink:

Awesome… ty Martin.
