New Axis web cam

After some exhausting research I finally purchased a web cam (wife says I take my comparison shopping/research way too far ). I opted for the wireless axis 207 as it just worked best for my setup…office in basement with no window next to PC. The wireless feature is working fine and I’m still learning all the features. Next I need to get my pictures uploaded to the web. Looks like the new IP feature in WD should be just what I’m looking for.

Anyone else using this camera? I was hoping for night shots but cannot find a way to turn off the status lights that reflect back from the window. Not a major issue as the percentage of nights out of the year with nice lightning displays are pretty small anyway.

Put black electrical tape over them.

I don’t know if the 207 has the same options as my 211A but in the setup menu under System Options there is a section called LED. If you don’t have this option I agree with sloweather.

That was it! I had gone through the manual but did not make the (mental) connection of the LED section and the status lights. #-o Thanks so much.!

also…need to use slowweather’s suggestion for my clock/weather radio as when there are no warnings in effect, a LED continually blinks green. :? Kind of annoying…

Hi,

I just got a Axis 207MW IP cam…great camera og fantastic pictures. My ? is: Have anyone got It to work with the new feature in Webcam capture? How?

And how about live streaming on the internet - anyone doing that? If so - how do you do it?

Try http://X.X.X.X/jpg/image.jpg in URL of the IP camera field on the IP Camera Setup tab.
X.X.X.X being your cameras IP

Look in your camera Setup under Live View Config/HTML Examples for sample code to put on your web page.

If you create an image anywhere on your Wx PC, it can be uploaded with FTP / General FTP / or FTP to 2nd Server, pic on a particular file, make sure the boxes on RHS all are filled with specific filename and go test and then click on the FTP icon to read the FTP upload log… Then you can set the times during the day yopu wish to upload. For larger 640 x 480 jpg files, I have selected a time 3 mins after the other uploads all the way through daylight hours.

Hi

Did it - my new Axis 207MW is now online - see for yourself www.strandvejr.dk/video.php. Great picture quality - best I have seen yet.

Thxs for the help in this tread and to Lars112 from Malmoe/Sweden. It works to with the new webcamcapture for IPcams.

It was all a question about setting up the camer the right way - and port forwarding the right port in the router. If anybody needs help with setting up a Axis 207MW - Im ready to help.

Hi

Wow - its looking very good - great quality.

Best regards,

Unfortunately the Axis ActiveX control doesn’t seem to want to install when running IE7 on Vista.

You could try copying the install file to your desktop and then choose xp compatibility mode and then try to install it
its a long shot but a few proggies have worked this way for me
