how do i allow files to be ftp from this pc with wd’s ftp programs to my web site through the router?
(its blocking them)

I’m thinking it must be the firewall built in to the router! There is probably a fix in that program.

i found the answer by typing my problem into google
i just had to use passive mode! (i.e i just had to tick that in the connections setup)
thats a tip i have told people before,LOL

Make sure nothing is checked under the “Advanced/Filters” section of the router. This is where is blocks outgoing traffic by channel.
As I was writing this you found the solution. Passive has to be set to Yes.
i am amazed at how quickly people have responded 
good ol google: i was able to find other peoples similar q’s
everything was working except where it came to actualy transfering the file…and passive mode has done the trick 
i remembers others having to do that too
