More solar sensor madness

Ever since I added the hobby boards solar sensor, my humidity sensors have been going crazy. As I’m typing this, I’m watching my outdoor snesor flip back and forth between 23% and 65%. I’ve tried swapping the hum sensors and removing one or the other, but I still get all kinds of spikes. Also my wind direction is stuck on north. Has anybody experienced this? Suggestions?

Have you checked the 5 volt[data] line in case you are getting voltage sag ??

I use to have a similiar problem .

try this

shutdown WD and computer .
unplug you ilink adapter from the pc and restart
one the pc has came up ( re-plug the ilink adapter )
run tmex32 viewer and make sure all (Rom id’s ) appear and the mircolan is happy ( stable )
shutdown tmex viewer
restart WD ( all back to normal )
works for me

Yes, in fact I just installed a powered serial board and have the ilink plugged into one of it’s ports.

That had no effect rocketman, right now the humidity is bouncing back and forth between 47% ans 100%… Sigh…time to go up on the roof and unplug the solar sensor I guess. Tomorrow in the daylight I’ll start adding sensors one by one to see when exactly the problem starts. Time to go back to my wm918 for updating my sebsite until I get this @^%# 1 wire running correctly.

what distance have you got betwwen the ilink adapter and the humdity sensor .
watch out for santa when you on the roof .

About 3 meters from the ilink to the indoor hum sensor and baro, then 4 meters to the outside hum sensor, then around 5-6 meters to the weather station & rain gauge. The solar sensor was coming out of the outside hum sensor and went another 5-6 meters to the solar sensor.

Samta’s OK, it’s the reindeer dropping ya gotta watch out for!

so you got a Y configuration with the mircolan ( correct )
See if you can re-arrange so you are only multidrop to the sensors ( one after the other )

my setup is about the same lenght ( got more sensors )

well now wd’s not reading the solar sensor at all. it sees it, but is not reading any voltage. the ibutton viewer sees it and reads it fine as long as it is the only device connected. when it’s connected with the other sensors, it seems to be constantly refreshing the list of roms found, but with with everything BUT the solar sensor, or just the solar sensor it read the devices, lists them and that’s it.

Hey Brian, is there any way to use the main v3 temp sensor for the solar reading? I’ve noticed that with it sitting on top of the house in full sun, it’s temp is a lot higher than any of my other sensors. I could paint that sucker black and use it for the solar!
