FYI -WD is still getting data from the 2310 - maybe there isnāt a problem in this area.

ah,that floating point error is with the vortex windspeed calculation
i will get a new zip uploaded to hopefully fix thatā¦
maybe that is why the vortex readings were stopping, i wonder

Installed the new code - so far it is working. The FTP is working as designed and sending data without the error codes.
When we 1st installed and selected the Vortex, WD quit getting data from the 2310.
We restarted WD and so far WD is getting data from the 2310 & Vortex.
I have noticed if you switch between running and not running the Vortex and donāt restart WD that WD will quit getting data from the 2310.
I will check back in on the system in a few (need sleep) and let you know how things look.

Some observations (Iām not at my system and I canāt see the weather)
I had my wife use the force reset because my wind direction has been steady out of the East since 5:30am - which is rather odd.
When she did this my max gust last hour equalled my max gust at 6am down to the tenth and the exact same direction. This is odd.
Since the force reset my wind direction hasnāt changed.
I will need to wait until Iām home to see if there are any real issues.
observations from looking the files on my web site
From the 24th @ 5:30am until 25th @2pm my WD showed the wind coming 100% from the East - very odd - this changed a little while ago.
Also, WD shows the top gust for today at the same time, speed and direction as yesterday
Today, the wind run is not calculating with the Vortex. I have a small amount of wind with a wind run of 0.0
There is something strange with the Vortex, Max gust today and Max gust last hour.
When I came home yesterday, WD was reporting the max gust at 88.4 mph at 11am or so and the extact same gust and direction at 5:30pm. I got home at 6pm, so I donāt know for sure these evetns didnāt happen, however Iām sure the exact same event didnāt happen twice in the same day. The weather yesterday wasnāt one of our high wind days where this would happen twice.
This AM I got up and checked WD and it shows a wind gust of 88.4 mph at 3:50am - if we had a gust this strong it would have awoken me. Some how WD is not clearing the max wind gust or (I suspect) it is recording the max gust and for some reason it keeps picking up the same data from WD and not the Vortex and recording it.
The other day I saw the same problem with WD displaying the same gust for a day or two.

This AM I installed the code from the below post last night since Iām having problems with max gust. I also did a reset of the gust for the day. Interestingly when I did this WD changed values on the screen to zero and the graph also change to not show the large spike at 3am. 2-3 minutes later the spike was back on the graph ad the digital read out for max gust had increased to 3.x mph due to current winds.
note that the graph shows odd minute one minute then even minute data the next minute
try removing the bad wind data from the logfile and then go action, convert wd logfiles to graphs
FYI - I went intot WD to update the log file and you canāt see the day anymore - see attached screen shot
Iām still unclear why WD would pick up data from a previous day - good or bad and populate in a new day. I donāt recall having this problem before the Vortex.
Another FYI - after I used WD to force the reset of the wind gust this AM, WD hasnāt pulled in any prior day data.
When I looked at the log the wind was blowing along in single digits, then there was an 80+ mph spike recorded then back down to single digits.
another observation
The wind run doesnāt seem to calculate the same witht he WD - if you look at the below screen shot, you will see I have light wind, but only .1 mile of wind run.
Bwfore the Vortex, I think my wind run would have been higher.

I was on deck for 36 hours and just got to a beach for the next weekā¦so there isnāt much I can do until the 7th.
I noticed the wind was stuck over night, we had freezing rain and snowā¦ I went out and moved the direction and it broken the holdā¦ so I think being stuck was related to bad weather.
Intersting to go from fresh snow on the ground to a sandy beach in a few hours

I cleaned up my system the other day from the error wind readingsā¦ last night WD recorded another 88.4 mph wind gust.
Very strange - WD keeps recording 88.4 mph gust.
Might be my last post on this subject for the weekā¦ my web site hasnāt updated since last night, so I suspect either WD or my computer crashed.

I was supposed to be home this week and planned to do testing with you - that didnāt work out very good.
While I was home for 24 hours, I upgraded WD to 10.34z. WD ran for 33 hours before I got another 88.4 mph spike.
This time the spike was at 4:10pm. There really isnāt a pattern when this happens (that I have noticed)
Also, I noticed when I start WD that the Wind dial goes from the very top reading and comes down to zero. Not sure if this is related to my reading error.
I wonder if there is a way to run an error checker in WD to find out what causes WD to get a 88.3 or 88.4 mph reading and record it.

I havenāt noticed anymore comm port problems with the Vortex - got your PM - I will pull the file down this weekend and install.
Iām out of pocket again for a few days next week - so I will monitor remotely and let you knwo what happens.
