I’m sure I saw a script for amending file.
I’ve spent ages searching but can’t find a link or a topic on it.
Can someone point me in the right direction.
I need to update the annual rainfall figure after a rebuild.
TIA,
Laurie.

Can’t remember seeing that. . .
BTW, it would really help if you put the URL of your webpage in your profile. I tried http://redlands.hopto.org/pwsWD/ and got a 500 - presume it’s now Somerset, UK Home Weather Station (ecoLcl version)
I’d love to put that stuff in my profile but I must be blind as I can’t see a field for it.
Anyway, I’ve found the script but how do I run it?
The url to my server is
http://redlands.hopto.org:8899/pwsWD
I tried entering
http://redlands.hopto.org:8899/pwsWD/pws_hist_update.php?pw=mypassword
but it just said file not found.
Sorry to ask such basic questions!
Think I’ve put my site in profile.
Perhaps someone can confirm.
This is the script for updating the history file - in my case, my WU history. I can’t see any history on your page, but to run the script replace “mypassword” with your easyweathersetup password.
Ok, that’s what I did.
So I believe (or maybe just guess?) that I need to update the ecco_lcl.arr file.
I don’t seem to be able to change it with a txt editor. If I make changes and save they are ignored.
Should be PWS_hist_update.php?pw=mypassword ie capital PWS as are all the files in the pwsWD folder that begin PWS some servers are particular about the case of letters
(post deleted by author)
You’re right.
Replaced the pws with PWS and it takes a step further.
Now says ‘Sorry - not possible’. At least it found the php script.
Please be concise and specific when posting a question or asking help for a problem.
I adapted the Topic-title
More information to read:
No High/Lows, where is history and graphs data used for, and ? cron?
The message from
PWS_hist_update.php?pw=YOUR_EASYWEATHER_SETUP_PASSWORD
.
The pasword typed is invalid.
Could be a hacker / script-kiddy so we give the least possible information.

Amending the yearly rainfall is normally done in the “weather-program”
In your case that is inside your Ecowitt weather device.
That device uploads its data in this file
This is the field used:
[yearlyrainin] => 162.567
You should use the appropriate Ecowitt “WSView Plus” app to inspect its data.
Go to More → Rain → modify the value for Rainfall Season → Save
Then the next upload from your Ecowitt to the website will use that value.
You do not need a history file for this as Ecowitt uploads the values already.
Succes,
Wim
I’m really sorry but I’ve looked at WSView Plus app but there’s no ‘more’ option.
I’ve been on to Ecowitt website but nothing there either. I’ve googled but nothing found.
I’m at a total loss as to how to correct the data that suggests we’ve had 4metres of rain this year.
On the Live Data page at the top right it says “More”. Select Rain Totals from the drop-down menu, amend the erroneous value and select Save at top right - NOT Reset.
Or type http://localIP into your browser and use the WebUI to do the same thing.
I note also that ecco_lcl.arr, as referenced by Wim, says [yearlyrainin] => 162.567
162.567 inches = 4129.2 mm - do you have your device set to inches?
As @bitsostring said, there are multiple ways to access the totals.
Attached screenshots are for the wsview+ app on an iPhone.
My phone/app is set to metric so it displays the rain in mm
Succes,
Wim
The device always delivers the uploaded-data in US-units according to the documentation.
The wsview app display the data according to the user settings. Same as with thePWS_Dashboard.
Wim
And therein lies the problem.
I open WSView Plus and see this -
If I click on the device it takes me the upload pages. Which is what I’d expect.
If I go to the dashboard it shows this -
Doesn’t look anything like your screen.
This is making me feel very stupid!
Ahh. . . didn’t know that. Sorry @CurryTruck
You are using a “real” console to view the weather-data. A console which displays the weather-data and has buttons to press.
Your console therefor has a thick manual you have to study how to reset the rain amount in the console.
Sadly, it will certainly be as lot of button presses to reset some values. And you will have to reset it to zero probably every year at January 1.
Make notes in the manual for next time.
There are dozens of Ecowitt devices.
Most PWS_dashboard users have a “glas-less” device (f.i. GW1000)
to upload, not a console. With those devices all modifications are done with an app. Far more easier than a set of buttons on the back of a console.
If money permits, you could order a (relative inexpensive) GW1100 and let the uploads to your website be done by that device.
Multiple consoles can in parallel receive the sensors-weather data.
So you can place the console to have a quick look at outside weather and have the GW1100 do its job somewhere else in the house.
Succes,
Wim
Is this definitely WSView Plus?
If I select my device it takes me to Live Data. . .
I checked the WiKi https://meshka.eu/Ecowitt/dokuwiki/doku.php
The WS2910 (with firmware 1.7.0) does not support customzing a.s.o using the WSVIEW-plus app. This seems to be an “older” console / firmware.
You have to use the manual to find out how to adjust the rain values.
But there is so much information and there are numerous lookalikes, you should better check the WiKi and or post a question on the forum here: Ambient Weather and Ecowitt and other Fine Offset clones
Succes,
Wim
