Migrating to new App Store version

Converting was super simple, but thought I would share with y’all

Old location was: /user/documents/wdisplay
New location: ~/Library/Containers/com.weather-display.weatherdisplayapp/Data/Documents/

With old WD shut down, launch the new WD from app store and immediately close - this will create the above mentioned folder structure

Simply copy "WDisplay folder over th the new location under documents.

It’s that easy

However, you will need to change 2 hard coded locations for Metar

Within WD; click control panel/FTP connections Metar/NOAA - in the NOAA and METAR tab change the folder location to the new location above

Hello Dawg,

How does the App Store download work for registered users?

App Store wants $30.99.

Thanks for any insight. Enjoying your posts.

Paul…,

Paul, not sure what you mean by “registered user”. I have been using WD since 2007 and paid the initial fee to not get banners or whatever it was.

I did have to shell out the app store fee. But its not bad. Brian has to make money somehow. Plus you will then get all the app store updates at no cost (like regular version) I believe

Make sure you follow the steps I mentioned. Make sure you are on the latest app store version

I had TONS of issues at first. But Brian helped to work them out. Its been running flawlessly for few months now

Happy to help if I can - questions or screen share
