Hello. With localhost Xampp I’m trying different weather models before deciding what I’m going to post on the internet. I would now like to test Meteotemplate and as you know you need to have a GoogleMaps API. You know that now to get it you have to provide a credit card (not prepaid unfortunately) to get it and since mine is a test in localhost I tried to insert a weatherlink API. The setup procedure allowed me to do but when I called the php index for configuration the browser is completely white. I believe that this is the API key that is not suitable, could some of you, please, give me confirmation of this. Or maybe it could be due to some other problem? The configuration I made I think is correct and I work with WD. Thank you
API keys are like door keys…you need to use the right key for the right door. So whilst you can enter any key you have it will only work if it matches what the API service is expecting. Wrong door key == locked out.
Thanks Admistrator, I’m afraid that for the first time in my life I will have to insert a non-prepaid card on the internet…
It is Google though and despite people liking to hate them for all sorts of reasons they are pretty reliable. I’ve had a card registered with them for many years without any problems.
Ahhh what wouldn’t I do for this decade-long passion!!!
unfortunately as you localhost is not accessible to the internet the api will not work as the google api set up requires the web address of your site
I don’t know for certain if it would work, but a dynamic DNS entry plus port forwarding on the router might solve that problem. You’d need to be sure that your system was secure though because you’d be exposing it to the BBI (Big Bad Internet)
API I took it. In fact after configuring the setup.php (but this time with the google api the localization part worked) as a launch … Index PHP All White Screen Issue Persists. Now I noticed in Xampp that in the folder … Sql there are configuration errors definitely due to an update that I did wrong. And since … sql among the templates I tried the only one that works a lot with sql is Metetemplate I was thinking of reinstalling all Xampp. But if you tell me this would be useless. All things considered, having no experience in this I kindly ask you: if I took a host could I do some tests there? I was thinking about Altervista what do you think? Thank you. P.s: this forum is great very professional. I am learning a lot just to read you.
