METAR Download Problem

I have decided to switch to the closest METAR to populate my WU current sky conditions as well as some of the other locations but I for some reason can’t get the data to download.

I am using KMKJ.txt for the file to be downloaded and have that set to download every hour but the directory I have set to download to C:\WD\metar remains empty after saving or using the test button.

I remember having problems similar to this before and went back to my notes from that but it appears all is set as per those notes.

Have I forgotten something as far as download setup parameters?

Wayne

Is the master internet switch on?

Menu Action > Set Main Internet Switch on or off

Thanks for the reply!
I went back and double verified the main switch is “on”
Everything else seems to work as far as uploads and FTP is concerned.

Strange this is the only problem I see currently…

Can you post a pic of your metar download page? Any errors in ftplogfull.txt after you have hit the test button on that page?

Working on getting a screen shot… Having some trouble getting it to paint as it’s the only graphic program I have on my weather PC.

Not much of interest on the FTP log .heres the most relevant except
Uploading C:\WD\webfiles\testtags.php → testtags.php
actual messages from upload session*
Start Time/date:10:17:12 PM 2/28/2010
vaz009.txt
vaz009.txt
Permanent connection selected
Permanent connection, will do ftp now
Checking for what else to do…
there are 1 more things to do
Aprs data sending now…
Running croncwop.exe now
Finshed email agenda
Finshed email agenda, and more Internet agenda items to do (FTP)…
Time/date:10:17:13 PM 2/28/2010

Will get a screen shot uploaded as soon as I can get it saved.
Is there a better way to do this working from within WD?

Thanks,
Wayne

Ok…Let’s see if this works

Screen shot attached…I hope

OK… Me thinks I may have stumbled upon the fault with the METAR situation here
I had a hunch it was something that had been altered that I had forgotten about as it worked previously…so I recalled changing routers since the original setting where I used METAR for data population. I think I had a SPI firewall misconfiguration somehow… After a router reboot and enable and disable session with the firewall ending in it being enabled it appears I have METAR data downloaded to the folder now.

So if that continues to work as it should I will finish making the changes for the closest METAR to handle my sky conditions and such until such time I get all my sensor pack constructed to handle that …another 1 Wire project

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and waking my memory to the point I used my head for something besides holding a hat

EDIT: Evrything is working as I asked currently… Firewall issue was culprit!
