I have a hard time believing this one :?
Found this interesting…
Largest Hailstone in U.S. History FoundNational Geographic NewsAugust 4, 2003
It’s official. The thunderstorm that pounded south-central Nebraska in June ended up leaving something for the record books: The largest hailstone ever recovered in the United States, a seven-inch (17.8-centimeter) wide chunk of ice almost as large as a soccer ball. The National Climate Extremes Committee, which is responsible for validating national records, formally accepted the measurements last month: seven inches in diameter (17.8 centimeters) and a circumference of 18.75 inches (47.6 centimeters).
Hmmm, but that looks like a big hailstone…
sometimes those big hail stones can have alot of air bubbles in them and not be as heavy as you would think, and then so the large surface area helps to keep them up in the strong updrafts…
It looks like someone put water in a balloon then froze it. All you have to do then is peel off the balloon and presto… A melon sized hailstone.
I would have liked to have seen a photo of these hailstones in place, lying on the ground, or perhaps an examples of the damage they caused.
That’s exactly what I thought.
thats it,sure looks like the shape of a baloon!
FAKE!!!
That’s for sure!
