Mebus TE923 / Honeywell TE923W / Irox USB pro

hi
WD uses the data from column 26 as rain data…
is that data behaving itself in the records.txt file?

edit…its not…its always 999, for all the rain columns…so that is the problem there…for some reason, the honeywell softare is not recording the rain correctly in the records.txt file

For some reasons i don`t know, Weathercapture hangs up sometimes and all data are lost in space or elsewhere. Maybe you can get in touch with the Honeywell-guys or the german Mebus support ( they are very friendly!!!)

Hi from the german north sea,

i just get a copy of " PC-Wetterstation" from Werner Kern. His Version 2.92.5 supp

sure…give me some examples…i.e where in the data the rain is, etc…
i doubt a station manufacture would help a 3rd party software with direct communication…thats very rare

Is it possible to have weather display upload the information without the weather capture program that came with the honeywell TE923 hardware?? Every time I run that weather capture program my computer locks up or becomes extremely laggy. So I was wondering if you can upload the information without the weather capture program. Otherwise I can’t use your program?? Could you possibly look into this for me??

Thanks,
Brandon

what i would is as much information as possible about how the station works…data protocols, etc…web sites for info…and someone would have to work with me using a logging of the data that occurs back and forth, e.g with a com spy…

Brian,
I have the same problem with the rain data not updating in WD. The data itself is updating in column 26 in the record.txt file but is still appearing as 0mm in WD. You’re right about WeatherCapture 1.2 program is behaving strangely as the rain data for last 24 hours, yesterday etc. are all with 999 values. But as said, the actual rain count in column 26 is updating correctly.

Will you have a look at it please, or is there anybody who has a brilliant trick up the sleeve? Is there a program that makes a correct records.txt? Will the old WeatherView do the job?

hi
try this zip update:
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.zip
i.e unzip to where you have WD installed
i found and fixed a bug
hopefully will be OK now

Brian,

Thanks for your reply, but unfortuanetly it’s still the same problem with the rain count not updating in WD.

Have you any idea if there’s any other software that’s compatible with the 923 and will make a correct records.txt?

Again thanks for your help

Cheers,
Preben

Hi
Q:
so, the rain is being updated in the records.txt in that data position OK , or ?
i can add some debug code to WD to see what it does see for the rain data…

sorry, i do not know the answer to your Q

Yes, as far as I can see, the rain count is being updated in column 26. I guess the WeatherCapture software is buggy as the the rain data in columns 27-30 all are 999 values. But all I need is the actual rain count to be imported into WD in order to upload it to a web page.
I’ve attached the records.txt file if you can use it for anything.

Thanks for your help - really appreciate it.
Preben

RECORDS.txt (37.1 KB)

ok, now, its a counter…
i think from what i was told, you need to * the count by 0.7 to get mm?
i see it went from a count of 15, to 17, to 21, then 23, then 43
they are big jumps
how much rain was actualy recorded over the corresponding time interval?

Brian,

The big count from 23 to 43 is simply a test where I had the sensor under the water tap to test your update this morning. Yesterday we had approx. 5.5 mm.

Thanks,
Preben

well, i had a 10mm throttle in the code…
so it would not allow a big jump like that anyway…
try a test of only a few mm jump…
do you think the count should be *0.7 or not?
it seems like it needs to be there
i.e 23 -15 is 8, 8 *0.7 = 5.5
so i will put that back in now, and also allow a larger rain amont at each time:
use this update:
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.zip
(i.e unzip to where you have WD installed)

THANKS…now we’re talking! I had 4.1 mm “rainfall” and WD converted the rainfall to 4.2 mm, so that’s perfect. One minor detail though. All the values in WD are updating with the correct values except the last hour rainfall which has a zero value. Will you have a look at it when you have a chance - please?
Thanks a lot for your help…you’ll see my register payment ASAP.

Cheers,
Preben

ok, i think i see the problem with the rain for hour…next update of wd should fix that

Hi
I have one of these weather stations here now (arrived today )
(actualy called an Irox the one I have (the penny just dropped that its also called the honeywell))
its a nice station, great price too

I am going to work on providing direct support by WD if I can

Brian,

That sounds really good if you can make direct support in WD. Is the above issues with the rain counter fixed in the latest version 10.35v? Or do I still have to install the patch that solved the problem afterwards?

Thanks,
Preben

yes the above issues with the rain counter are fixed for when using the records.txt file with 10.35v
direct support is a still a long way yet,its a struggle as no help from the manufacturer (typical) (yet)
