I have got my pws working again and now have the idesign template on a different server. I have also started to modify the forecasts data and quite pleased with what I have achieved, but still a lot to do.
Yesterday we had about 1.8 mm rain and wd reported well over 100 mm for it, this was then sent to the template on my website. The same happened this morning with a similar amount. My pws is reading rain correctly because I can see it on my wu page. Obviously this is not a situation for an offset as the spike is huge.
Has anyone got any ideas ? I cannot set the rain gauge ‘tip’ size, its set at 1.0 and greyed out. My pws reads in 0.3 mm increments.
I have just manually adjusted the data and re-uploaded.
I have the aercus weathersleuth, same as the ws1001 wifi, wd gets the feed direct from the ip.
I have never used any offsets in wd and it has been ok until today, but this may be the very first rain that wd has seen
from my pws as we have had a long dry spell here.
There is still a minor issue with the uvi and solar, on the template the solar radiation circle is showing the actual uv index
and the uv circle nothing. Not too bothered by that though as I may try and adjust the template so it shows the correct uvi
and have no circle for solar radiation.
If you have any thoughts on the rain spike, please let me know. This is the actual reading in wd, not just what it sends to the
template.
I will test this first thing tomorrow with a carefully aimed hose pipe spray !
Im really liking the template and the adjustments im making. The forecast, forecast ahead and outlook will be using data from 3 different sources.
Current conditions may be images from my webcam or a current conditions weather widget and the earthquake section maybe windyty animation
of wind rain and clouds.
I have wd set so that it reads my aercus weathersleuth from the ambient/aercus ws1001 wifi pro option and pulls the data from http://my pws ip/livedata.htm
I installed the above update and immediately noticed the uvi and solar was fixed and working so I was really pleased :). I then went out to check the rainfall about an hour later, but unfortunately the wd ftp stopped completely for no reason and then it started uploading incorrect temperatures and since this morning it has not read any data from my pws at all.
I tried an older version of wd and then the newest version of wd but no luck.
Is there any chance you can apply these updates to the latest version or previous version, so that I can do a complete re-install ?
Also, my registration key no longer works, I’ve used it several times. I don’t want to give up on this, im really close to finishing my webpage.
Im back to using my wu api key, data at every 6 minutes, not what I wanted but at least my page has data.
There is some sort of ftp / connection issue that I just cannot work out, my pws is working absolutely great but wd no longer wants to read the data from htttp://my pws ip/livedata.htm
Only issue at the moment is my extra temp / hum sensor wont work because its not read by wunderground.
the change I made would not have affected anything else, and so the problems you have suddenly have are not related to the change I made but something else altogether
the fix is there for the next update of WD
but you can use this test .zip update after a doing a full re install
It stopped the ftp working, then wd started uploading incorrect temperatures, then the ftp stopped completely and wd stopped reading my pws data from http://my pws ip/livedata.htm
Im up early this morning and am about to try again. I installed the test by unzipping the file into the existing wd folder, so the new weatherdisplay.exe was put straight into the folder, did I do that correctly ?
Thanks for all your help, my site is looking great and I’m very pleased with it.
Michael
edit:
I have just re-installed the test.
No uvi or solar. No indoor temp / hum and no updates or reading from my pws after the first read.
Sorry this has been so much trouble. I will now go back to the wunderground api option.
if you could email me the wifiprodata.txt file from the data files folder
and your wdisplay.ini settings file
then I will check on things
also when connected directly, what shows under view, debug info and view, program event log?
Just 2 things for me to do now, fix the indoor temp hum that I altered to stop it displaying default data, forgot how I did it but will work it out.
And decide what to do with the earthquake box, I think I might put a lightning map in it.
I will create a page for extra links etc, and there will be a link where to buy the weather station and a link to say “buy the only software that supports this weather station, Weather Display”
Its great, its exactly how I wanted the page to be. I’m also going to send a message to the author of the template to say thanks for the hard work.
