Many problems with WD 10.21

Just updated to the latest version (using WS 2500 console version):

WD crashes repeatedly on loading - took 6 goes to work, then I noticed that solar readings have gone missing for Jan 1 2 3, just current day readings ( Jan 4) showing on 72 hr graph, NOAA readout now missing days ( just day 2 values given).

Also time appears stuck on 01.15 for several hours before updating, so day 3 is greatly shortened on the graphs

After restoring to previous version, the solar readings have returned to their correct values for Jan 1 2 3, but all data ( not just solar) read by WD 10.21 is now missing. Time still ‘missing’ from 01.15 on jan 3. NOAA reports show missing days & duplicate days, eg. 3 x Dec 27.

hi
what was the previous version?
when you say crashes on loading, do you mean in getting the data from the console?
where are you looking for the solar readings missing?..on the main screen graph?

noaa records:
the problem will be with the time of the midngight change in the logfiles…

how long a down time of data were trying to download from the ws2500?

time stuck:
well, there is no time or date in the data from the ws2500 (its a very primitive station for data ), and so WD has to guess it, based on when it was last running
if run WD normal, all the time, try all the time

Thanks for the rapid response.

The previous version installed was 10.20u
I was only downloading the overnight data record (9 hours). WD 10.21 crashed during data acquisition.

The solar data for Jan 1 2 3 has gone missing not only from the graphs, but the values for Jan 1 & 3 have also disappeared from the UV/ET barchart too. ( not Jan 2 though!!??)

After I restored 10.20u, the overnight data I eventually managed to load into WD 10.21 seems to have disappeared completely, all of it, not just the solar data.

the sunshine hours are stored in the logfile, 12004lgsun.txt
check that file…
and post here its contents
only thing changed was I added a few log files to store the missed data for the mysql and wunderground updating afterwards (and I will add updating of the wd.db too)…as misseddata.txt, in the datafiles directory
maybe adding that function has upset the apple cart
I will do some testing here with the ws2500 i have here

I have seen only one minor issue with 10.21a and Davis VP2. The size of the images for alltimerecords is cutting off the last line. See attached, It is doing it on all three images for all of the record (month, year, all_time).

Strange. Mine aren’t doing this with 10.21b and I even have three additional lines below where yours is cut off!

I think Brian meant 12005lgsun.txt - for Jan 2005 ? you should have one of those?

oops, still getting used to 2005
i meant
12005lgsun.txt
i will do some testing of the ws2500 data extract today

and I will also fix that extreme screen too

Lost the solar data again - left WD 10.20u running & came back to find WD has developed an error & needs to shut down etc.
Shut down & re-opened WD, it crashed on data acquisition & again I lost all but the present day’s solar data from the graph.
Here’s the 12005lgsun file:

And the 122004 lgsun file now just has this!!:

i did a short duration download and it was OK
but are you doing a download of overnight data?
also, post there your 12005lgsun.txt and 12005lg2.txt
and email me your 12005lg.txt log (zip)

Thanx for reply,
here are the files you wanted to see:

12005lgsun:

0.0 0.0 11.0 4.7 0

I’ve now installed 10.21e, which opened & loaded a short data run with no problems. I will let you know how it copes with the overnight data tomorrow. Many thanx. Will email the 12005lg.txt log file.

note that you can manualy add missing days hi/lo data from those 2 files, so that they are then in sync, in the reports…
