From my understanding the icon on the main screen is the current conditions? If not how can I set it that way?
I have a Vantage Pro2 and would like to show the Forecast Icon from the station and not from WD. So I set it that way, but the uploaded Forecast Icon is not the one from the station, but WD’s current conditions. And sespite not having ticket Show Live Ticker, it uploads it. Weird!
Brian, I believe that is a bug since it is swapped around. Want me to send you any files so you can see it yourself?
You can see the main screen here: Cumbuco Weather - Cumbuco Brazil - Fortaleza Weather
Nobody has a suggestion or answer?
Is it a bug?
We have blue skies and the sun shines as good as it gets but the main screen’s icon shows rain because the station’s forecast icon shows rain.
The Live Ticker box is un-ticked but it shows the Life Ticker text on the uploaded main screen.
I would appreciate any help.
It may be handy to post screen shots of your “Icon/VP Forecast/Weather Description Setup” and “Thresholds” pages under Universal Main Screen Icon Setup.
That way someone may be able to suggest a change in you settings that would resolve the issue.
Sure, here they are:
The station’s forecast icon shows rain since more than 1 hour (and it is very cloudy outside with dark rain clouds on the sky). The forecasticonstation.gif is uploaded every 5 minutes. I just downloaded all webfiles and compared them with the local webfiles (they are the same).
So here are the settings (see the screenshots below).
The forecasticonstation.gif should show rain, but doesn’t do it. On the website the icon named “Cumbuco Weather Forecast” is the forecasticonstation.gif
The first thing I see is that you say you want the forecast icon from your station console and not the WD current conditions.
In first settings screen above you do not have a tick in the box “Use the forecast icon from my weather station (if supported)”.
On the second settings screen there are a couple of alteration which may make a difference.
You have it set that the both sleet and snow occur at the same temperature. Try raising the sleet temp, I use 3.9 for sleet and 2.7 for snow which about right for here.
The rain section, you have the same setting for checking to set the icon, recent rain and stopped raining. On these I use 15 minutes, 5 minute and 30 minutes so have a play with these figures or do a search on the forum to see what others are using.
I want the forecasticonstation.gif to be correct. I think I know where the error is.
Brian- I believe you mixed up the coding. The gif file changes but rain on the station is cloudy at the forecasticonstation.gif
Can you please check it and let us know when the fix will be available?
Regarding snow- dunno what you are talking about. In the last Million years the temperature never dropped below 22

I will do some testing of the VP rain icon on the console getting through to the forecasticonstation.gif
(when I get a rain icon on the console again)
the problem is that there are a number of combination of forecast codes from the VP
Negative, sorry.
I installed the new zip, the station shows partly cloudy and the uploaded forecasticonstation.gif shows rain. I have attached the forecasticonstation.gif and the station’s icons according to the manual.
The station’s icon shows rain since more than 10 minutes, the forecasoticonstation.gif was uploaded twice since it changed to rain and the forecasticonstation.gif hasn’t changed and shows rain still (which is correct at this stage, but it also showed rain when the station’s cion showed partly cloudy for hours).

you can put WD into debug mode
so it will show what the icon number is coming from the station
(e.g for when that is partly cloudy)
would be good to get that info
do that under setup, advanced/misc…log the raw data for testing…then that info shows under view, WS2010/WS2500 data setup
