Local directory insted of ftp upload?

Hi,

I have now installed a windows 2003 server as web/mail server.
I have also installed the WD on this.
But i cant get the WD to ftp to the localhost and log in, but if i try from the DOS prompt it works well.

Is there a way to set up the WD 10.31 to put the file in a folder insted of FTP’e the files?

Best Reg.

Wouldn’t “Control Panel - FTP/Internet Setup” “TCP/IP Client Server” be what you want?

Well, no… not from what i could see.

I would like to have an option like: “Local folder to put web files”.
Program is installed under c:\programfiles es default, and i would like the program to put the webfiles (the same file as it would upload with FTP) to d:\web\weather folder instead of FTP’e them.

The tcp/ip server/client is more if i have the application on one computer, and want to transfer it to the server…

My weather station is connected on COM1 on server

you can set the webfiles location to where ever you like, in the webfiles/web page setup
that should do what you want

What about the wxlocal.html when it creates the wx.html or alternatename.php files, it doesn’t appear to create them on the HD, but renames them on the fly when ftp’d ?

I’ve got a package called WebDrive, which I ended up buying because of the flakiness of the vws ftp, and would like to be able to use that if possible (particulary since WebDrive was only paid for about 2 months ago).

I like to think of wdisplay\webfiles as a working space area, as you have files in there that you don’t want to be uploaded, and updated webpages to be copied to totally different location on the HD, or in my case w:\public_html\wd

yeah, some of the file extensions are only done when the ftp is done…
hummmm
note that via the customise internet and file creation setup, you can have files being updated but not uploaded

But if I have funny extensions, the file won’t be created on the HD though. :frowning:

If you could at some later stage have WD allow you to create all files at scheduled times in a different folder/directory, like the NexStorm allows you to either FTP or copy the files, then that’d be great. !!

how about option, in the customise internet and file creation setup, to create a filehname the same as what it would be renamed as via the FTP method, in the webfiles location you have selected?
(or maybe i should just have wd create that file as well anyways, by default)

I think the best idea would be to simply create the file anyway… another way of seeing if the file is created, rather than just a ftp problem… or for simply viewing the resultant file locally.

Well, at the same page as the FTP information, there should be a choise for “upload file locally, choose folder” and with a browse button.
Easy as that… ;-D

Yep, I fully agree with you on that.

That’d let me use WebDrive to ftp the files to my website.
