Our Lacrosse 2310 looses connection with the wind speed and direction meter. External temp is also out. This has happened twice the last two days.
The data does not show on the console either, just —
The only solotion seems to ‘reboot’ the Lacrosse console, and then it works again.
Search the forum for “LaCrosse” and/or “flat lining”.
This is a well known phenomenom and is well reported and discussed within the Weather-Watch community.
It relates to an interference / RFI / EMC problem that the LaCrosse PC/wireless receiver is susceptible to. I overcame this by obtaining and extension lead and locating the receiver as far away from the computer and other electronic equipment as possible. Also, adding a ferrite torriod or RF Balun to the connecting cable of the receiver can sometimes help.
Patience will also be required as it is a trial and error fix and can take time.
I also have a wired version and every month or so I get a flat line for wind speed and direction. It always comes back to life on its own after a couple of hours. We may both have RF interference problems as Bob metioned even with the wired version.
yup, the shielded cable replacement has worked for people who do this
I told La Crosse about the fix months ago, and they said thanks…so if i were them, i would ship them with a shielded cable…
The Foiled UTP option looks to be the only certain way !
I will have to get on the roof of the club-house : yes !
In the mean time, I have moved the console, it was placed between a thermostat and a USB ADSL modem, maybe that has something to do with it. Thats when the problems started.
