La Crosse WS23xx users - post your humidity extremes

Some of these stations used to be advertised as having a humidity range of 20% to 95%. I recently purchased a WS2305 and the manual for this station claims a range of 1% to 99%. I have a funny feeling nothing has changed though!

I am wondering what extreme humidity values other users are getting with their WS23xx stations. Here are mine:

Minimum: 17%
Maximum: 91%

I would be interested if anyone has data outside this range.

Looks like I am on my own here :D.

New record low today of 15%.

I have the 2315. I routinely see it read 96%, which I have WD adjusting up to 100%. The lowest I have seen is down in the thirties…

Well 96% adjusted to 100% sounds pretty workable to me. In a few more months there should be some fog around here so I’ll keep that little trick in mind .

I think a 2305 is a non-US 2315. The LaCrosse website shows the spec as 20% to 95% so I think the manual must be in error.

I asked LaCrosse once how they could call stations with such an incomplete humidity range “professional”, the response was that they were suitable for us by the media for weather reporting :?

The US site might be a bit outdated - the main La Crosse site has specs for the WS2305 that mention a wider humidity range (click ‘Outdoor humidity’ on this link). Either that or the 2315 hasn’t been updated but I would be surprised if that is the case.

I’m been using a WS2315 for about 19 months with a 0% offset. The maximum I’ve recorded is a flat line at 96%, I don’t force the 100% reading. The minimum has been 19%, but that is with using a -3 slope. That’s about 24% without the added slope correction. The low end humidity barrier causes the dew point to be messed up. But for the price,…the barometer is great.
